Issue with gaining access to account…

Issue with gaining access to account spoke with rep. on phone who indicated it could take up to 24 hours. Noting rep. was very pleasant and informative. After several days still no luck getting into account called service number and spoke with young lady who was able to identify problem, issue with aol sign on name. She corrected problem and I am now able to view my Bella’s account. She like the previous rep. was helpful and explained everything about the policy very clearly.

Wait Times Are Unacceptable

Embrace has always paid their claims promptly but recent phone calls have taken between 30 and 60 minutes to talk to a live person. This is just unacceptable. I would be ok if they would simply call me back but having to listen to the same jingle for 30 to 60 minutes is not a pleasant experience

Misleading and very, very fine print...beware!

The customer representative answered several of my questions and concerns. Unfortunately, the answers given were very different than the rep that assisted me during the signing up process. The major issue is I was told that I could change my plan on my renewal date, however the only way to change your plan is by completely closing it and opening a new policy. Additionally, several commonly used medications are not in their 17 page formulary. So my vet will now have to look through 17 pages anytime she prescribes a medication. In NY state vet techs are licensed, unfortunately Pets Best doea not cover even a rabies, heartworm, lepto vaccine if given by a tech which is fairly common practice. So read, read, read.....lots of misleading information given by reps during the sign up and LOTS of very fine print. We are researching and will drop our policy within the next month as I know there are better options out there.

Our pet is almost 12 years old and had an emergency visit with an ER Pet Hospital. He was there from Friday night until Sunday morning. Needless to say we spent over 2000.00. Please Beware when they say you receive 90% or 80% of your bill, it is untrue. We were told the Vet Hospital charged more than they allow. It’s called “Usual and customary”. As customers we have no control what we are charged. It’s unfair to pay us only 48% of our actual bill when it’s supposed to be 80%. When your pet is on deaths door bleeding through their rectum and profusely vomiting you need to go to an Emergency Vet clinic or hospital. I find it a way to take from their customers what is owed to them.

LYING when they say they cover Behavior Therapy

My initial review was deleted so here it is again, as this is something I would have loved to see before purchasing this pet insurance, hope it helps someone. Here is my original review "If your dog is going through anxiety, guarding issues, and being human aggressive, keep on looking for another insurance. Or make sure you read the fine print... When these guys say they cover "Behaviorist therapy" if that behavior therapy involves training your dog with a behaviorist to modify their behavior, don't hold your breath or expect Petplan Fetch to reimburse you. Apparently, training is not considered by them a part of behavior therapy for dogs" Fetch tells you training is covered on their site, but when you file a claim, they tell you they ONLY cover it if the training happens in a place where there is a vet on staff. Have you ever gone to your vet and had them also train your dog? I doubt it. So if your vet diagnoses your dog and recommends medication and TRAINING as part of behavior therapy, that is still not good enough. You MUST train your dog in a place that has a vet on staff. I've been searching for a place like this, does not seem to exist. I asked Fetch to give me an example of a place with a vet and trainer on staff, and they could not come up with a single location. Below is what's posted on the Fetch website where they advertise they cover training, but it is not true, as a vet recommendation is not enough. They will tell you they cover the vet-suggested treatment for behavioral issues, then tell you that they do not cover training for behavioral disorders in the same sentence. It's crazy! "Fetch pet insurance does cover behavioral training. So if your vet recommends that you see a trainer to help address your pet’s behavior, that will be covered. We’ll also cover any anxiety medication that your vet prescribes" Worse of all, when you talk to them on the phone, they seem to really not care about the discrepancy with what they offer, vs what they deliver. So if you are looking to get this insurance to help your pup with behavior issues, or just want to make sure you are covered in case your brand new puppy or rescue develops them, I recommend you explore all your options before you commit to Fetch.
