We found out the hard way how important…
We found out the hard way how important pet insurance is and how lucky we are to have gone with Trupanion. Once when our girl Macie came home from a boarder with an infected leg injury, and then twice more when our boy Chewie was diagnosed with degenerative heart valve and joint pain issues. We have saved thousands in vet bills, as Trupanion pays for all the diagnostics and medicine we need for our kids. There was also an option to extend the coverage for alternative therapies as well, which we wish we had taken so we could have afforded hydrotherapy for our Chewie. I believe that at the time we signed up the rates were comparable with competitors and we knew exactly what we were signing up for. No surprises! Trupanion can work with your veterinarian as well so they can make reimbursement a breeze. Otherwise we get reimbursed within days. The customer service and level of communication has been excellent. Staff is knowledgeable, professional and caring.

Everything you need from an insurer
We've had Healthy Paws for our Chocolate Labrador, Harvey, since we brought him home 6 years ago. Over those 6 yrs we've had to file several claims for Harvey, the latest of which was for TPLO (ACL) surgery. As you can imagine, this was a major expense and not only did Healthy Paws process the claim and issue the reimbursement in less than a week; they also sent a personal email to check up on how Harvey was doing. Filing a claim is as simple as uploading the invoice from the Vet. Couldn't be happier with the level of service from Healthy Paws.

Simply The Best
Trupanion really is the best. Yes, it may cost a few pennies, but you get what you pay for. They are so efficient in dealing with claims. I do it all on my phone when I leave the vets office and am reimbursed within a few days! I have learned that cocker spaniels can be costly and Trupanion takes the worry away. Thank you!

Thank you Trupanion. We purchased this insurance for our dogs hoping to never need it. Well we did. Trupanion could not have made this stressful process more simple. We called the customer service number to explain the situation and the representative was so nice and helpful. They sent an email link to get a claim started and from there they took over. We wish we didn’t need to file a claim or use Trupanion but we are so glad we are covered. Thank you for the ease and pleasant use of your services.

Six weeks and counting waiting for claim reimbursement
I haven’t had issues with denial of claims (yet), but the ten days for claim review is a joke. I’ve been waiting 6 weeks so far to get reimbursed on an unexpected surgery. While I’m financially stable, I did anticipate the funds to be available in my budget a month ago. So if you’re wanting a timely payout, it’s not going to happen. And this isn’t a one-off matter. I have four dogs I’ve submitted claims for in the last three months, and every single claim has taken at least four weeks just to get processed (even those where I haven’t reached my deductible and there isn’t reimbursement due).
