Best choice for us
The only reason I did not give PetsBest 5 stars is because of the 45 minutes I was on hold to speak with someone. Other than that, I’m extremely pleased with PetsBest. Their customer service reps have been pleasant, friendly, and knowledgeable. Illness claims are handled in a timely manner. Wellness claims take a bit longer, which I knew before signing up, so that’s no surprise. I had initially looked into several companies and talked to people about what they had, and I decided to go with PestsBest. We just renewed for a second year, without any reservations. Their full package was the Best Buy we found for the money. We’re happy and satisfied, it works for us and that’s all we need to know.

Make sure you search Healthy Paws on the Better Business Bureau prior to making any decision to sign on. The responses to customer complaints feel dismissive and sarcastic. Here are a few responses included in their replies to customers who have complained to th BBB and rated them with a 1 (lowest rating): "Give your babies big hugs from us." "Give your girl a big hug from us." "Please give your pup a big hug from us." "Give your baby a big hug from us" "Give your buddy a big hug from us." "We do our best to be transparent regarding annual premium increases by including this information on the "Frequently Asked Questions" page of our website. We are sorry to lose you as a policy holder and hope you and your pup stay well. The Healthy Paws Team" Remember, the customers complaining are taking valuable time out of their busy lives and feel compelled to write the BBB to file a complaint. Will this be you after a few years? When I started with them it was fine, the increases were fair but recent years it skyrocketed. It also became a struggle to get compensation, faced with impossible demands for documentation that thy claimed not to have from literally years ago. To me the skyrocketing yearly increases can easily cover the BBB fees in order to forgive and increase their ratings ... many Healthy Paws answers appear to be cookie cutter answers referring to their FAQ. If you are currently a customer and you felt that you were wronged by this company (or any company for that matter), or their reps made it extremely difficult to honor a legitimate insurance claim, I urge you to document and send your findings to your state's Attorney General office to investigate what they are doing. Its a hassle, but essential to provide documentation to keep this and others in this business honest.

Trupanion has been very accommodating for us .
Trupanion has been very accommodating for us ... easy to register with and helped us with one larger medical expense for our pet. No one expects or wants an 'emergency' ... but when it happens it is nice to know that the monthly premiums you have paid into an insurance program could also help offset some larger medical expenses for your pet.
