My Car Insurance Went up
A year ago, my car insurance went up and I was looking for a new insurance company. On the advice of a couple of friends, I checked out Sonnet. Not only did Sonnet save me money on my car insurance, I ended up bundling my house insurance as well. I also love the fact that I can do everything online with Sonnet and I don't have to talk to anyone on the phone. My friend who recommended Sonnet had a fire in their garage and they told me they made one call to Sonnet and everything was taken care of. Now that is service!

Poor Accident Forgiveness Policy
The policy prices are very good. The response to an accident advisor was fairly good. But my biggest concern is that the Accident Forgiveness policy is misleading as it only applies to the first year after renewal, then the rates go up for the following 5 years! Not much of a forgiveness after 30 plus years without an accident!! And they would not let me pay "out of pocket" for the repairs ad I wanted to do.

Recent ER experience made easier
I recently had to take my pup to the ER for undiagnosed vomiting and diarrhea. When the vet recommended ruling out additional testing (ultrasound, bloodwork) to rule out an obstruction, I didn't hesitate because I knew Pets Best would cover 90%. It did take a month to get the coverage reimbursed which is longer than normal, but the process for reimbursement is quite easy

Lack of Transparency
The initial premiums for home and auto insurance are not the lowest but competitive. I had a claim a few years ago on my home policy from damage caused by nature and the response to the issue was great. However, I have experienced communication issues with Sonnet. Last year before renewal, I received an email with the renewal amount for the auto insurance but never received a notice for the home insurance renewal. I shopped around and found lower auto premiums. When I went on-line to check out the home renewal, I found the premium increased substantially but did not have time to shop around. I called Sonnet and asked why I did not get the email notification for the home policy and the agent had no answer. I suspect it was because of the premium increase and Sonnet did not want to let me know in advance so I could shop around. I asked the agent what the combined discount was for Sonnet having both the auto and home policies and was told he has no idea. I was told I would have to cancel one policy to find out what the premium would be for the other policy. Overall, I find Sonnet to be evasive and not as forthcoming as other insurance companies, especially when policy holders want to comparison shop. My polices renew in September and am waiting to see if I get email notification of the premiums for both auto and home for 2022. I'm already shopping around. I received my renewal notice for the autos for 2022 and called Sonnet. I was told I would receive the home premium over the next few days. I asked again what the discount was for Sonnet having both policies and they couldn't tell me anything other than it could be up to 20%. As a consumer, this is totally unacceptable.

Sonnet saved me lots!
Super helpful, with excellent customer service. I was with a broker before I switched to sonnet and paying well over $300 a month! I’m now paying less than half of that with Sonnet. It was pretty easy to get a quote online and get things started. So glad I found Sonnet and switched.
