Deplorable bait-and-switch tactics; not to be trusted.
Employs bait-and-switch tactics, using predatory pricing to lure new customers in, hiking rates after the first year. My premiums increased by 63% after the 12th month, despite having made no changes to the property or insurance policy. When I inquired about the extraordinary increase, I was simply told that rates change over time. There is no world in which a 63% year-over-year increase is a reasonable hike or one based in actual risk assessment. You will be lured in by a low rate and excellent initial customer service--the fellow I chatted with was very good at his job. Watch for your auto-renewal notice and the rate hike after 1 year. The one good thing I will say about Sonnet: they make it simple to cancel your insurance--you can do so online.

Extremely difficult to get through to customer service...never called me back.
I signed up for an insurance plan online and called the following day because I had some coverage questions. I was on hold and left my number for a call back as instructed. because the message said they have high call volume. I never got a call back. The next day I emailed them to ask for a call and still haven't heard back. I also sat on hold for 45 minutes the following day and never got through. This is not making me feel like this company will be very supportive if I actually need a claim in the future.

Extremely Slow Processing
Unfortunately, ASPCA is extremely slow at processing claims. I have waited over two months for one to finally go through and they are not able to provide me information in a timely manner

Incredibly reliable insurance
Incredibly reliable insurance. Very easy to file claims. C/S has been very friendly and informative when I’ve called. My pet had 2 TPLO surgeries and then needed hardware removed a year later because of rejection. Thank God we had insurance! Definitely will use Healthy Paws for every pet into the future!

The only glitch I have had is the Vet's office not submitting the claim. Once submitted, I always have prompt service and what qualifies is paid out quickly. I am happy with Trupanion.
