Immediately processed claim

Immediately processed claim. Live that the web site is so user friendly and uploading claims is a breeze. Excellent service and tools! Plus the policy is way better than others I looked at. So glad I went with ManyPets.

I have recently purchased pets best for my new pet

I have recently purchased pets best for my new dog my current dog has trupanion. After taking both pets for their annuals and submitting claims I have discovered that pets best takes what could be multiple months to review and pay claims, some thing that they are not forthcoming about in their advertising. I submitted both claims on the date of service 7/14/22 and from trupanion I received a text and email confirming they had received claim and were working on it, within 2 days they had approved it and within a week I had my money. It is now 7/23/22 and had to make a call to pets best to see if there was a problem with the claim or if any additional information was needed. Thats when I was told the it could be as many as 45 days for my claim to be settled. Very disappointed would not recommend pets best

Happily Surprised

I wasn't sure I wanted to get pet insurance and have another monthly bill. Then Jacob ran off, as puppies sometimes do. When I found him he was eating something unidentifiable. Two days later he was down, wouldn't eat, drink, or walk. A visit to his regular vet and a referral to an Emergency Vet Hospital we knew this was going get expensive, but we were going to do anything to help our puppy. I submitted my claims and within a few days, Trupanion sent an email with an explanation of what was covered and issued me a payment. What a relief. No hassle at all. Everything worked exactly as they advertise that it will. WORTH EVERY PENNY in premiums. I'm a customer for life.

Denied for wellness, microchipping and neutering!

I have been paying for over a year for both preventative care and illness for my puppy (18 months old). I have been denied for everything: vaccines, wellness visits, neutering, microchipping, and an impacted tooth. I was also denied for a congenital issue (a heart issue) that they said was pre-existing rather than congenital. After paying $8000 in vet bills, and $1200 in fees to ASPCA, I have been approved for reimbursement for only $110 and it says I haven't reached my deductible of $250 yet! This definitely appears to be a scam.

Confusing and Frustrating

Meh. We were excited to hear they accepted claims for Chiropractic care and we’re referred to one by our veterinarian. They don’t cover certified and qualified Animal Chiropractors we just learned after months using this company. The policy says you must use a vet for chiropractic treatment not an Animal Chiropractor. The deductible claims went through and we were only told yesterday that was Animal Chiropractor isn’t eligible. We were so surprised and we started to worry about what other surprises confusion await if we continue with them. Overall disappointment and we will keep going to the Animal Chiropractor and pay out of pocket because that’s what’s best for our dog.

My two-month old puppy swallowed a bead, and it stuck in his chest. On our vet's advice, we took him to the emergency veterinary hospital, where he underwent a surgical procedure. The bill was $3,500.00. Fortunately, I had Trupanion pet insurance, and they paid for everything within a week. They are a fantastic company, and I try to talk all my friends into getting Trupanion pet insurance. They are inexpensive, and so well worth it!

Pretty smooth!

Responsive customer service from Darian, onboarding flow was good (minus where to submit proof of current insurance to reduce waiting period).

Great employees make this a pleasant company to do business with

Nationwide has great employees and the employees that you speak to really seem to care. As far as that is concerned, they earn 5 stars. What knocks them down a notch is the silliness in decision making. When I bought the policy, I obliged their request to list any and all vets and it was either me or the previous vets who submitted all of my dogs office visits. I brought her for various things, but she has no specific ailments. One time, I brought her to the vet for an upset stomach after eating something off the street. Nationwide called her upset tummy a pre existing condition. I had to wait several months and submit a review request to have that restriction removed from the policy. Recently a claim was denied because something was prescribed on a follow up visit that was not related to the initial visit. There is room for improvement. Other than that, no complaints.
