I had to cancel my insurance due to…
I had to cancel my insurance due to money issues, but this company is wonderful. There was a mix up with my billing and I reached out to their 24hr customer service line. They were very nice even though I was not at first. They helped me out and got the issue resolved. The next day there was another issue. Again I was upset but they were very nice and fixed it immediately. I could not have asked for better customer service. They were wonderful just wish prices were more affordable!

No due Diligence, even scammier than human insurance
As a previous dog owner, this was my first experience getting pet insurance. In the past when unexpected things happened I just used savings to cover costs, I thought this time around for my new rescue dog I would spend something monthly to ease my savings being nicked later. But now I feel like a fool for giving them any money and realize I should have stayed away from this insurance. They do not do any diligence in analyzing claims and if you want to spend your time and your vet's precious time (noting at least in Canada we have a vet crisis and is ludicrous to ask this) to argue with them go ahead. My dog had puppy vaginitis when first examined. This was treated with some probiotics and all cleared, which was confirmed during medical exam when my dog returned to receive some vaccines that she had missing. Fast track three months later, she is about to get spayed and a blood test shows there is some internal infection, a urine test point to a potential UTI. So claim is placed, less than 24 hours later denied because of "pre-existing condition." First, it says they review medical records and work with vet office, if they truly did this and actually worked with vet offices as they say they do, they would know this is something new (literally a history of visits). Second, when travelling abroad I've had medical insurance, I have NEVER been denied for an infection that came up during the trip. I don't feel like I need to explain why infections and diseases differ, and why insurance for humans does cover infections, to an insurance company even if this one covers dogs. So this led me to reason why on earth am I spending my money and time to have to argue this? They said in order to appeal decision my vet, again who is wonderful but I know highly overworked and busy needs to step away from his duties to call them and advocate for this to be covered. Shame on you trupanion for even asking this during times like this (a quick google search points to crisis we have in Canada for vet care and their wellness)! I am not even going to get a lot back from the claim they denied probably a few bucks, but it is so telling of the type of battle I know I will have to face later so I am happy to cancel and say I'm good. It is scammy that they overpromise their actual connection/work with vets offices, and that they are is easy to work with. I rather keep my sanity and money and save what I was paying out to them, or go with another insurance. I regret not reading the reviews earlier but I guess that's on me. ONE ADDITIONAL NOTE IF YOU ARE CANADIAN: when I first discussed insurance rates and pay, the trupanion person sent me a table for us to review together with prices. BEWARE that prices are listed in USD, I realized when the money came out of my account that it was not the Canadian rate that he had shown me, so I am paying more than I budgeted, but I left as is because it was few extra dollars. Again this just goes to show lack of professionalism and actual dedication to Canadian clients. Trupanion team please do not bother answering and asking for me to follow up with you. I did. I have spent precious time doing this, I voiced these concerns to you and all you do is more sales tactic where you list everything under the sun that could go wrong so I shouldn't walk away. Yes we are all at death's door every second we breathe. What I would recommend is that you actually do a review of what you promise and work to acknowledge when you do something wrong. I've also contacted the rescue that referred me to you, and they said unfortunately they've heard similar stories of other adopters. So do better, yes you're a corporation out for money but at least be an honest one about what you can and cannot do. I'm a happy canceller and already looking for better alternatives including just investing that money elsewhere it can grow and when I need to use it, I won't have lame excuses. NEW EDIT: To add response to the below, it was a NEW infection (you can goggle and figure out that there are differences between the organisms that cause vaginitis and urinary tract infections, thus new infection). But according to you, this needs my vet's time to be explained. Again shameful given current crises in accessing vet care. But in any case, infections are infections they can reoccur and are not pre-existing, this is akin (I am stealing from another reviewer) to say you had the flu once and human insurance won't cover you ever again because you had the flu once before. It is an infection. It is treated, it is cleared, and life moves on. Your insurance company really does its work to deny something simple so can't imagine something more complex. Leaving a review for others to heath the warning to avoid you, I should have followed the advice of others. I didn't.

Excellent service and quick payout
Our 7 month old Clumber Spaniel swallowed a rock. The Vet successfully removed the stone and we filed a claim as soon as Nicholas was home. Trupanion acknowledged the claim and kept us in the loop while doing their due diligence. The funds were deposited in our bank promptly. We highly recommend Trupanion, as did our Veterinarian.

So far I have had a great experience…
So far I have had a great experience with Manypets. I haven’t had to use their insurance yet but hoping it was as easy as signing up. I would like to add my cat to my plan online but they make you call customer service since I didn’t add him during the sign up process.
