I'm impressed!
We have had a plan with Healthy Paws for 3 years now, since we got our pup. We just had to file our first claim for a hospitalization and follow up vet visits. I was AMAZED at how fast and easy it was. All I had to do was email a copy of her medical history and a copy of the vet bills. It was processed and a check was sent out within two days. I'm impressed!

Not recommended
Takes a minimum of 4+ Weeks to receive reimbursement. It can take 3+ weeks for them to even register that they have received your faxed claim. Categorizes pet issues incorrectly. Have twice reduced our coverage from 80% down to 50% because of claims we have made. We pay premiums for up to $5000 per condition per year and have not exceeded this amount. Poor customer service with extended phone waits and a call back system does not work. Emails can take weeks for them to return. Always have excuses for their poor service…

BAD BAD insurance
Update of more poor experience with Trupanion 1/26/22: I was told an appeal would be done for my denied claim. After two months with no response of any sort, I gave them a call to see what's going on. As it appears, they took no further action towards my claim after pushing me to have them do the appeal on it and replying to my original review saying it was being done. Very upsetting and I feel like I've been swindled by an insurance company. 11/19 - As someone who works with insurance on the daily, I can tell you that this is not good insurance. I consider insurance bad when they do not reimburse the policy holder as they should. They will find whatever way possible to avoid paying out on a claim, as they did in my recent claim experience. I am working on filing an appeal to the claim, but canceling my policy immediately.
