OMGosh..I can't begin to tell you how happy and impressed I am with this pet insurance. I almost cancelled it one week ago due to a pre-existing condition that I felt would not benefit my pet. My dog was in puppy boot camp and I decided to keep it in case he was injured while at camp. Sure enough, I received a call from the training camp stating he was acting strange and lethargic with discharge coming out of his nose. They transported him to the vet and he had pneumonia. The vet believes it was from aspirating on his food during training. They covered everything after my deductible. So happy I still have it and will not let it go. Thank you Trupanion!!

Good quality health plan
I bought this plan for my pup because it lists good coverage and I purchased the rider for sick visits at the vet. I haven't used it yet and hope if I do need it, it lives up to Costco's quality of services.

Trupanion provides peace of mind
I have never had pet insurance in the past. Getting a new puppy this year I received some information from my veterinarian about Trupanion and decided to give it a shot. I am so incredibly thankful I did. Unfortunately our new puppy has had several unexpected health issues with expensive vet bills. I was worried that submitting a claim would be a difficult process but I was wrong. Trupanion makes it so easy to upload the invoice and submit a claim. I am so thankful to have the peace of mind that I can take care of my puppies health issues with Trupanion's support. This is a great company and I highly recommend getting pet insurance for your pets. It is a wise investment that is there when you need it.

i have had the insurance for 14 months and each time i make a claim, petsbest provides timely responses to my questions (e.g., phone call, email), communicates regularly about the status of my application, and pays the claim earlier than the 30 - 45 days they give themselves. their 90% reimbursement rate after a one-time $200 deductible is great to easily know how much the claims' payment will be.

HealthyPaws has been nothing short of amazing for our dog Teddy. This was our first pet we had insured and it was mainly only done due to hip dysplasia worries. We enrolled him as soon as we got him in 2015. Teddy is an Akita/German Shepherd mix and past experiences with dogs that big have always had arthritis and hip issues down the road. So we enrolled him in 2015 on the 90% coverage, $100 annual deductible plan. It has been a literal lifesaver for him and our family and likely one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I tried Figo Pet Insurance with 2 of my other dogs and they have been nothing but headaches and drama dealing with 1 of my dogs who sadly passed due to osteosarcoma spreading to his spine. They take weeks and weeks to look at your claims and in his case it was usually almost always denied or with a problem. Sometimes they would cover bloodwork, sometimes they didn't. It was crazy, a nightmare to deal with and I highly recommend everyone avoid Figo at all costs. HealthyPaws has never had that sort of problem. They have covered little things like UTIs, monthly glucosamine shots and antibiotic meds. But they also have covered MAJOR life-threatening things without any issues for Teddy. Teddy had a mast cell tumor removed from his chest in fall of 2017 after adopting him. Every penny of that bill which was over $3,000 was covered with no issues at all. In fact, only ONE time in roughly 100 claims have I ever had a issue and all it took was a simple phone call for that to be resolved. The turnaround times are very reasonable and fast, never takes more than a week or two tops. In June 2022, Teddy started having severe neurological signs and a brain tumor was suspected. To make a very long story short, he ended up having to have stereotactic radiation and chemo. This is certainly not cheap, his bill was roughly $15,000. HealthyPaws paid EVERY single penny of it except the usual things they do not cover (exam fees etc). I was reimbursed for 90% of that entire bill. They even emailed me to check and see how he was doing. They just spent over 13k on Teddy and still care enough about him to see how he was doing. HealthyPaws is amazing and I won't even consider another pet insurance company moving forward. He gets his bloodwork checked almost every week now, monthly chemo meds and other meds. All of this is covered without issue and pet owners know how expensive weekly blood tests can be. HealthyPaws is AMAZING, I cannot stress this enough. I have already recruited a friend to enroll their new puppy with them and I hope this review can help others make the proper choice here also. Teddy is thus far doing as well and roughly 90% of his former self. Our family and Teddy owes this all to the wonderful care he got from the doctors but also HealthyPaws. I will never use another pet insurance provider, HealthyPaws care of Teddy has made me a fan for life.

Peace of mind is invaluable
When my 3 year old mini dachshund, Camo, suddenly had bloody diarrhea I rushed him to the closet 24 hour emergency vet. When I got there, I pulled up my Trupanion policy on the app. The receptionist said "smart mom" Camo was hospitalized for 2 days. Had countless tests. He was treated for canine HGE. Having Trupanion took away the anxiety of trying to come up with the roughly $4000. Trupanion communicated with me every step of the way. They reviewed the estimate and approved Camo's treatment within minutes. MINUTES! What a relief!! I have had Trupanion since the day my fur children came to us 3 years ago. It is worth every cent. The peace of mind is invaluable! I can not imagine having a pet without Trupanion.

Trupanion has been very good at paying claims and customer service has been very helpful. I did not think lightening would strike twice with having a dog with health issues, but it did. Last dog, I did not have insurance and had a lot of expenses. This time I got insurance with the new puppy. I’m so glad I did because within her first year, problems arose. The last thing you need when you are concerned and worried over your pet, is financial concerns too. I have peace of mind now. I would rather have no need for insurance, because that would mean no health problems with my dog, but that is not the case. It helps me be able to provide her with the best care and give her her best life possible.
