I really liked them despite slow claim processing time. Then my premium went up 50%!!! The only explanation they gave me was that my pups were a year older. Last year my premium only went up 16%. I haven’t even filed any major claims.

How Healthy Paws helped me...
I wanted to write a review for Healthy Paws because I wanted to support them as they have supported me through a tough time with my 6-year-old husky. I want to help other people trying to make the decision of whether or not to incur the monthly cost of pet insurance and then ultimately which one to choose. My husky recently had a bad battle with pneumonia and needed to be hospitalized for two nights to receive IV antibiotics and fluids, needed multiple x-rays, a “wash”, culture sample, and has been on antibiotics for a while now – this can all get very expensive very quickly. If I didn’t have pet insurance, I don’t know how I would have gotten through it financially – having pet insurance allowed me to make the right decisions and luckily, we caught things early. He’s doing much better now and hopefully on the tail end of this. Healthy Paws has an easy-to-use app to upload the receipts quickly, have very fast reimbursements, customer service has been great and I am so thankful for them. I even got a personalized note asking how he was doing after his battle with pneumonia – it wasn’t a templated email – it was a personal note specific to what he had gone through. That is the type of company I want to be a customer of and appreciate.

Very slow
It's been over a month since I have submitted my claims and have not received any funds or itemized notification of coverage for the claims. Seems Pets Best wants their policy premiums paid promptly, but they do not seem to have any urgency to pay submitted claims out.
