Extremely Disappointed After 13 Years of Loyalty
I’ve been a Healthy Paws customer for 13 years and have insured all of my dogs with them. I’ve always had a $250 deductible with 90% coverage, and I have never missed a single payment in all those years. I believed I was a valued, long‑term customer. Recently, I noticed my monthly premium had dropped slightly, which didn’t make sense. When I logged into my account, I discovered that Healthy Paws had unilaterally changed my deductible to $500 and reduced my reimbursement to 70% — without any clear notice, explanation, or consent. After more than a decade of loyalty, this feels like a complete betrayal. I trusted this company to be there when my pets needed them, and instead I found out major policy changes were made behind the scenes that significantly reduce my coverage. I’m extremely disappointed and frustrated. Customers deserve transparency, especially those who have stayed with a company for over a decade. I hope Healthy Paws reconsiders how they treat long‑term policyholders, because this experience has destroyed my trust in them.

Very easy to submit for reimbursement
Very easy to submit for reimbursement. It was very comforting knowing that most of my pets bill would be covered just wish they didn’t nit pick the stuff that I was charged for.

Would highly recommend not choosing this company
Would highly recommend choosing a different policy for your pet, company Will do everything possible to either have you do all the work for them or deny the claim. Maybe consider just putting the money you would spend on this policy every month into a separate savings account to have in case of pet emergency.

Scammed out of $1300
FOR WHOEVER IS OPENING A NEW POLICY WITH METLIFE, PLEASE BE AWARE OF THEIR SCAM! I've had Metlife insurance for my first cat which has been fantastic for the last year that I've been with them - until recently, when I got my second cat and tried to open a new policy. Metlife quietly removed the original plan that I was familiar with (apparently known as "standard wellness") and only offered me two new plans: preventative 365 and 575. This information was not relayed to me as I was purchasing through my company's portal, so my only two options were this 365 or 575 plan. NEITHER OF THESE PLANS actually cover what they say they cover. Spay/neuter and annual dental cleaning is only covered up to a maximum of $100 FLAT instead of the 80% reimbursement. I pay the same monthly premium for both of my cats, yet one cat has full coverage with 80% reimbursement while the other has a hard reimbursement at $100. How is this not a scam? I had initially called in to request the same policy as my first cat but I was not aware of the terminology change, nor did Metlife offer the "standard wellness" to me. Metlife was unwilling to help me on this at all. Even more insulting is that they investigated themselves and found themselves to be free of blame, even though my rep confirmed they had removed the option from my end so that the only way a customer could get the standard policy was to call in and specifically ask for it. If you don't know about the plan's name, you can't even ask for it. I am now out of $1300 for a procedure that would have been covered under the standard plan. Needless to say I cancelled with Metlife and I hope no one else suffers from the same situation. I used to promote Metlife to friends and colleagues, but now I've changed my view completely. What a shame.
