This company is not accountable

Signed up yesterday for two young dogs. Was astounded to find out that they immediately processed payments from my account, despite me being told that my first payment was due October 1, 2022. The first payment date was confirmed on the email they sent (see below) MASTERCARD (3968) First billing date: 10/01/2022 Monthly premium: $C43.52 When I called this morning, was told that I had been told about the "down payment" (I wasn't) and about the first payment being due upon enrolling (I wasn't). Supervisor who reviewed the phone call from yesterday obvious did not listen to entire conversation as she would have definitely heard myself and "Jeff" joking about a Sept 1 first payment and him confirming that no, my first payment was due October 1. I have multiple insurance policies (including a current pet policy) and at no time have had to make a "down payment". Additionally, the premiums are always due the month following enrollment, which is what this policy says should happen, but did not. No accountability for the difference in what I was told or what my policy states in writing. I have cancelled this policy and do not recommend using this USA company for your pet insurance needs.

Healthy Paws has been a lifesaver

Healthy Paws has been a literal life-saver for us. Our dog was diagnosed with osteosarcoma last December and had to have a hind leg amputation. He then had complications after surgery requiring a lengthy hospital visit, and after recovering, has been on very expensive chemo medications. We chose the plan that covers 80% of eligible costs, and Healthy Paws has been quick and completely reliable in covering that amount. The claim submission process is super easy with the phone app (basically, take a picture of your hospital invoice, upload it, you're done) and then we receive email notifications that a claim is in process, and then a few days later another email explaining the benefits. Shortly after that, a check arrives in the mail. Since December, I've probably thought "Thank god we have Healthy Paws" hundreds of times. We had the policy for many years before using it, and I actually considered canceling it. I am so, so relieved we kept it. Illness strikes without warning, as it did for our boy. If it weren't for Healthy Paws, he probably wouldn't still be with us.

My 2 yr old Morkie needed emergency…

My 2 yr old Morkie needed emergency surgery after swallowing a watch band. This was an extremely stressful event for us. The ease of submitting the medical bills to Spot took some of the stress off our shoulders so we could spend our time helping Keiki recover.

Hereditary in their books doesn’t really mean they were born with it.

After reading their response: It looks like the same answer they give others when they can’t overcome the problem with their word of hereditary. And they hope my pet is on the mend??? Come on man, she will not mend from this condition unless she has a corrective surgery on both legs. Being born with this is only going to get worse and cause more problems and more pain until she gets them corrected. And to think they will never cover this condition that is hereditary and being born with it! Makes me so sick that they don’t even care. Do not believe the word Hereditary I purchased my tiny yorkie girl in July at 12 weeks old. I researched pet insurance companies and because she’s was going to be so tiny, I wanted her covered. So many small dogs can fall off of things or get stepped on. Also, yorkies are a breed where laxating patellas, liver shunts etc are common. I wasn’t going to chance her not having the best coverage. When I read they covered hereditary conditions, I didn’t hesitate to enroll her at a very young age along with buying her stairs for the furniture and bed. 5 days before her 30 day waiting period was up, she was lifting her back left leg. Being so small, I took her in to get looked at. Vet said she was born with laxating patellas and they will most likely get worse. Now noticing her little legs are collapsing, I took her in last week for her well puppy check...she’s now 16 months, and now they are at a grade 3-4, and again, this other vet who is a surgeon said she has little or no groove for her patella to ride in. She was born with it and It is obviously a hereditary condition. If she doesn’t have surgery, she could possibly put to much pressure on her crucial lig and that will tear. So I sent in a pre-approval and she got turned down because I took her in 5 days prior. “But it’s hereditary I said....she was born with it” “Both vets said she was born with this condition “. They didn’t care. BEWARE..... they do not stand by their word of “hereditary”. That word isn’t the same thing you and I Believe it is. DO NOT BUY pet insurance from them thinking they’ll cover your beloved pet for a hereditary condition. I’m so disappointed in this company, and I want everyone to know how unhappy I am. They will take your money, but will not cover a hereditary condition that you pet was born with BEWARE
