Awful treatment to a vet and his service animal
Multiple email. Multiple calls. Unreal phone wait time. No return email, not able to leave a message. Absolutely no member benefits. Company has excuse after excuse. People are rude and blame the customer for their frustrations. Just a typical insurance company. My opinion is they’re in fact the worst. They play on people live for their animals. Which is in fact even worse. But here the triple whammy…. It’s USAA. A bank that tries to say they’re all about vets and their families. But…. They’re in fact just the average predatory bank. Don’t pay for this. Don’t thrown away your money. You’re going to have to pay the vet anyways. I’m the long run… they’re making money, and refusing to engage their customer base.as a vet, with his service animal…. These people have proven. Theyre no ally to us. Oh… and after all the money I’ve paid them. They’re still a balance. Lol! Can’t make this stuff up. They’re an awful company. 8/18 No mention of the ghosting and not returning any emails for weeks, an answering the phones for weeks. Nope… just the policy. Put the blame on the customer misunderstanding the policy. Wow! The fact that it took me weeks to even get on the phone with anyone (despite my many attempts to call and email with no response) which is what started all of the btw. Should say everything. Their response bellow is a very shameful attempt to deflect and change the subject. Insane. I honestly wouldn’t folks. Really…. Don’t say I didn’t warn ya.

Would give them “0” stars, Please do your homework first!
Would give them “0” stars. Customer service is awful, na manager ever available and then they promise to call you back, 3 weeks and still waiting. I made the mistake of switching to this company through a work place promotion. Before I had Lemonade(the best!) and Nationwide, also a great company. We had multiple animals get sick from kennel cough, 4 weeks later and claims are still sitting. With Lemonade you are paid same day through direct deposit and Nationwide direct deposit within 2 days. For me it’s not about the money, it is all about customer service. I hate to write a bad review but being with 2 other companies I get to see what’s important. I am transferring all pets back to Lemonade and I am doing double insurance that is how bad ASPCA is. Once they pay claims, we are done.

Impressed enough to renew!
I have a Labrador Retriever with a diagnosis of USMI. When we got that diagnosis and realized he would be on medication for that for life, I signed him up for pet insurance with Lemonade to cover anything else that could crop up regarding illness/accident/injuries, etc. I did the basic coverage plus added on coverage for both physical therapy and the exam fee. It's been worth it. He broke his tail in early summer, followed by abnormal lab results at his annual examination that has resulted in two follow up visits of UAs, additional labwork, and BP checks, with more to come. I was not expecting Lemonade to cover, since it was something that was found during his annual wellness exam and we did not opt in for wellness coverage. Not only did they cover all of the followup visits, but the reimbursement was in my account the same day as the approval. The second visit, I was immediately approved and reimbursed within hours. We are about to do our annual policy renewal and restart our deductible and our premium only went up about $4/month. Knowing that we have more follow up visits ahead as we try to pinpoint his abnormal labs and figure out what we need to do is made a lot easier by knowing we have Lemonade for his insurer. We've been thrilled with the experience, ease of submitting claims, rapid notification of claim status, and fast reimbursement.
