They cancelled my policy after 5 years
I have paid on my policy for 5 years for my dog and my daughter's dog. My daughter had to move to CA for work which never seemed to be a problem filing claims for her dog. Earlier this year I called with a question and said my daughters dog was in CA and he had had a couple claims. My dog has never had a claim in those 5 years. They said since my daughter moved that both dogs could not be on the same policy. So they cancelled my dog in March 2023 the second I told them she had to move. I turned in a claim in July 2023 for for labs for slightly elevated liver enzymes that he has before (the vet said don't worry, they were not that high) and since he had to start his waiting period over, after 5 years of paying, ASPCA claim it was a pre-existing condition and will not pay. This is wrong of the company. I will cancel this policy as they just cancelled my dog and erased 5 years of payments and no preexisting conditions, without any claims. Guess there isn't anything I can do, but buyer beware. They will find any excuse not to pay a claim.

Worth every penny Trupanion!
I bought Trupanion shortly after I got my new puppy five years ago. I have had quite a few claims since then and they have always paid at the rate in my policy. I am happy with Trupanion! Also it’s great when going in for an ER visit with a sick animal that can literally cost thousands that they can pay directly to the facility making my out of pocket expense doable!

3 Month review
My dog, Shelby, had a rough come up. He was a rescue dog and is very nervous. We brought him to our vet the first day we took him home and the vet labeled him “aggressive”. Understandable, as he was nervous to many new things. We have taken him through extensive training and he has made enormous progress. It finally came the time to start regularly brining him to the vet for check ups and get him up to date on his medical records. After 2 vet exams I submitted my invoices over to pets best. First of all it took over a month to hear anything back about anything, 2nd of all, because of my first vet visit with him back in 2021 they deemed him with “pre existing conditions of aggression” and only reimbursed me <10% of my policy’s reimbursement plan. I had a 90% reimbursement plan and a 100% reimbursement plan. Untimely leaving me with a very sour taste in my mouth. If your beloved pet had any type of rough come up, anxiety, “aggression” or any other nervous reactions to a vet, they will not cover you. The reimbursement plan essentially paid for 2/3 of the payments I made to pets best for the 3 months I was with them making it a complete wash, but now leaving me with over $1000 in vet bills. Makes me feel my pet and I are just purely a number in their system and there are no real human to human interactions. All computerized and only looking out for their pockets.

Penalized for using insurance!
I've had them for over 4 years, and now they've changed my policy to increase my deductive and lowered the reimbursement limit because I'm considered "ultra high loss" LOL. So you get insurance, your pup has issues and then you get penalized for using the insurance! So don't go with them, shop around and find someone else.

User Friendly
Choosing from policies offered was very easy. I haven’t yet taken our kitties in for the check up yet, so I haven’t experienced the reimbursement part of it. I did download the app, so I’m ready to go. I’ll keep you posted on the later, but I’m confident everything will be efficient.

Steer clear of this company at all costs!
I recently submitted a claim for my dog, Koru. He was diagnosed with cancer and X-rays showed a huge mass on his heart and lungs. I have full coverage that includes cancer and treatment, but Embrace denied my $5000.00 claim because Koru had a cough seven months ago which was diagnosed and treated for. When I showed the vet the explanation of why my claim was denied, she said there’s no way my dog could’ve survived with this growth on his heart and lungs for the last seven months and it had nothing to do with his cough which was treated! I’m unable to afford treatment for my dog and as such have had to put him down. Thanks for killing my dog Embrace not Pet Insurance!!

Read the fine print
Read the fine print! Paid monthly and annual premiums for a couple years. When I finally submitted a claim, for two dogs. I was reimbursed $16 on a vet visit that cost me more than $800. It's a bit lame that I can't reply to the Fetch reply (shown below), so I'll add context here, based on their reply. Correct, I was not reimbursed because it was not in my policy. That's why my title is "Read the fine print," and not "Do not use," etc. To pay more than $50/month (well over $500/year) for a policy that covers NO regular (necessary) wellness visit expenses is a waste of money to me. 🤷🏼♂️
