Do not waste your hardest earned money!
We have had our insurance for a year now, we pay $135 A month for our two babies. We went to to take a dogs for their annual Check up, plus had their teeth cleaned, had our dogs chipped. Our bill was almost $1000, we made our claim and the reimbursed is a whopping $145. I canceled our insurance immediately. Do not waste your hard earned money paying for insurance. I was better off saving that money then wasting it on this so called insurance. They say they will reimburse you 80% … all lies!

Expensive, doesn't cover routine stuff but worth it since it comes through on the huge expenses
My brief review of Trupanion: Expensive, won't cover much for little or medium things but ridiculously worth it because they cover the big things when you really need them. And claims procedure is very easy. I had Trupanion for years with my dog, Oscar (who unfortunately just died yesterday 😢), and I first looked at it like a human health insurance plan, so I was a bit bummed that they seemed to never cover anything when I had small or medium unexpected vet expenses. That's not what pet insurance is for, though. When Oscar had huge expenses for multiple thousands of dollars (knee surgery a few years ago, cancer, back and related issues toward the end of his life, etc.), Trupanion covered huge portions of those visits/procedures, turning them into just a slightly expensive vet visit. They paid out more on Oscar's expenses over his lifetime than I paid in premiums. And the claims procedure is extremely easy, whether you submit yourself or your vet does it (it's beyond easy if your vet submits directly to them!). My advice on Trupanion: Get it right away when you get a new pet (so unexpected chronic stuff doesn't become a pre-existing condition), expect to be annoyed by how expensive it is, but just be patient because it's really going to be there if/when you need it most. :)
