Affordable and easy
Buying insurance with Pets Best was easy and fast. The rates are affordable and they offer a few different options for plans. Filing a claim was easy and done online within minutes. My claim was approved and went towards my chosen deductible which is what I expected would happen. It did take almost 2 months to process my claim as they were very busy but I was kept up to date during the wait. So far I am very happy with this insurance and have recommended it to others.

My dog aspirated on her vomit and developed pneumonia and Trupanion denied her claim/24hr hospital stay claiming a pre-existing condition….. she’s never had pneumonia or stayed in a hospital before or
On approximately March 17, 2023, my dog aspirated on her own vomit and developed pneumonia resulting in a 24 hour hospital stay with the hospital bill just north of $2000. Trupanion denied the claim citing a previous upper respiratory infection…. My dog has never had pneumonia or aspirated on her own vomit. In my opinion this company is an absolute scam who helps with nothing. I was afraid to speak up at first, but I don’t think it makes a difference because I don’t think you would ever show up in any meaningful or effective way to help my dog either way. And before you respond to this with some flat empty response with some faux apology and no course of action and invite me to contact you to hear whatever I can only assume as additional fluff versus you reaching out to me and making a difference……..save it. Thank you so much for sending me the email asking me to rate the likelihood of my recommending you to others so I can reciprocate and share the zero support that you’ve shown me.

DO NOT BUY this insurance
DO NOT BUY this insurance. They keep increasing monthly payments and know your cannot switch because if you go to another insurance provider anything your pet has will be considered ‘ pre existing’ and not covered. They also take a lot of time to reimburse you. They just don’t want to pay you. I switched because for my last claim they didn’t process even after one and a half months. I kept calling and it was all excuse that vets didn’t respond. You can find much better insurance elsewhere.
