Buyer Beware!

After being a Pets Best customer for almost 10 years I have chosen to discontinue coverage of my two dogs and find another provider. This decision was made following the latest denial of coverage for expensive dental work one of my dogs required a few months ago. After paying years of the highest premiums for the best coverage, I consider the return for the cost of my coverage to be negligible. My pets deserve the finest care and I try to provide that to them with grooming and healthcare. Your rulings & stipulations that determine coverage payments are unfair and inadequate. Now that your company has finally resolved the kinks you had when I first began using your pet insurance, it's a shame that you now operate, like so many other companies, for profit purposes only.

I have not had to submit any bills yet.

I have not had to submit any bills or my current dog but if and when I do, I'm sure that my claim will be handled quickly and efficiently based on my experience with a double charge (my fault) when obtaining her insurance. Everyone I've spoken with has been outstanding and polite with helping me with what ever I called about. I would surely recommend Trupanion.

Pulling Teeth Without the Fun

I adopted my Dogs at the local humane society and they were pushing MetLife Pet insurance with their welcome packet. I knew insurance was a good idea so I got a decent plan and thought I was good. Wrong, filing anything and trying to get a correct "Explanation of Benefits" where they detail how they "honor" your vet charges is like pulling teeth. Had a scare on the first week where one dog decided to eat a leather toy at night and had an ER trip and the filing was awful. I gave the entire adoption history with the vet notes and they denied the claim because I was missing 6 years of medical history on a dog I adopted 2 weeks ago. Not to mention the company is setup so you cant actually contact anyone on the claims team who could simply correct the the fumbled information, you have to contact a dedicated customer service rep. who can email the claims team for you and "contact" you in a week when they hear back or you have to fill out an appeal form that has your vets signature and stamp on it (yes a stamp.) Sure, one time would be bad but its like the claims team is either toddlers or is in India because they cant report the right vet visit dates or read the receipts that say what the vet has or has not prescribed. I think they have fallen to a new level of dysfunction and I'm joining a new company at the end of my plan. PET OWNERS BEWARE 2024.

Graycie injested a metal object

Graycie injested a metal object. She became very sick and was in and out of the animal hospital for two days having blood work and xrays done. Embrace reviewed approved and paid for the all the procedures in a very timely fashion. I'm pleased to report that Graycie is better.

Dosappaointed

We’ve been with Embrace for a year for our 10 yr old cat; we didn’t have a single claim. Despite this our premium jumped 150%. When I called to check why it jumped so much, I was told the underwriter determines premiums and they get WA state approval before they post the new premium. I wonder if the tactic is to just use a good quote to get customers first year, then increase premiums the following years? Note: my pet had no preexisting or any illnesses. I’m now shopping for a different company.
