Emergency gallbladder rupture
It was a whirlwind day regular vet to 24 hour clinic for abdominal ultrasound, bloodwork then told to rush to another emergency clinic when ultrasound revealed ruptured gallbladder surgery was needed ASAP!, after hearing the quote for the surgery and if she makes it through will be several days hospital stay. After freaking out my husband says we have pet insurance oh yeah right! Thank god. Just the surgery and hospital stay was $11,000. Plus the lead up cost to get her to that point. After each vet and clinic we sent in the invoices and they were approved quickly and we started to get reimbursement checks the following week after her surgery! Anyone he tells me they are getting a puppy or a dog/cat I tell them to get pet insurance immediately. You just never know. I got her insurance when she was 12 weeks old, never used it till she was 4 then Boom! IMHA 3 blood transfusions, 9 days hospital! Healthy paws came thru and now this gallbladder rupture! Don’t be the person standing at the reception desk when your animal is sick having to make a life or death decision for your pet! You can say no problem I have pet insurance to back me up!

First time with Pet insurance
This is my first time utilizing insurance for one of my pets. I researched many companies and felt confident in choosing Pets Best for our rescue dog. It's been about a year now and we couldn't be happier with that decision. Not only has the plan more than paid for itself (both the wellness and the injury plan), filing a claim couldn't be easier. Despite our multiple claims, I have only reached out to customer service once for a question and was very pleased with that communication.

I am submitting a claim for the first time and the online process was very easy.

Everything that I submitted was…
Everything that I submitted was rejected. I lost faith in it and what this company stands for. It's too bad because I would have stayed with them for the life of my pet. Unfortunately, I am taking my business elsewhere.

despite some points for improvement, a positive experience.
I've had the insurance for a year and it's been extremely helpful. Just this year, my 7-year-old dog, who has never been ill, started having various problems. Some of them unfortunately started during the waiting period and were treated as pre-existing conditions, but the rest were covered and were our salvation. On a positive note, they didn't increase my price absurdly after a year, even though I had used their insurance (unlike Trupanion who DOUBLED the deductible for my other dog who didn't even use the insurance). a negative point is that the website is limited and there's no customer service, so for most things you have to call. Reimbursement also takes forever (it's taken 40 days but on average it takes 20-30) but overall I'm very satisfied.

Horrible Insurance - Stay Away
Figo does not honor their insurance - and goes out of their way to say no. I took dog to the ER vet for a severely torn toenail. They had to sedate my dog to remove it. Figo denied the claim saying that the ER diagnostic fee is not covered and that the toenail procedure cost was in excess. This is my first claim, and the total bill was around $440. Less my $250 deductible and 80% average, Figo should have paid out about $150. Why have insurance if I can’t use it? This policy was purchased through Costco.
