I will never be without PetFirst again!
I'm so glad I purchased insurance when Mandy was a puppy. Unfortunately, at 1 1/2 she developed her first Mast Cell Tumor. Since that time, we've maxed out our $5000- insurance policy every year. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Met Life is very easy to work with-filing claims are a piece of cake, and when I've had to connect with them, the staff has been extremely accommodating! It is so well worth the price even if you never need it-it gives great piece of mind! (I've never had to file a claim for my older lab, almost 7 years of age (and hopefully never will). The price is not as expensive as you might think and well worth every penny!
MetLife is a win for me!
I have had the most seamless experience with MetLife, from the original signup day right through claims. The app is easy to navigate, within 48 hours they let you know they are reviewing your claim & within 48 hours a decision is made. Within 2-3 days you have your money. I have had experience with other ins companies that simply took my premiums & never covered anything. I’ve been pleasantly impressed with MetLife’s pet insurance plan.

Claim
I recently called in and talked to someone again. My question was I understand That the ACL It's a ligament. But in the policy it does not say when I took my dog in for examination. To find out why she was Limping and never stated in the policy that it would not be covered. Now the person I spoke to say it doesn't say it in the philosophy, but it's n of confused on that. Then she said due to the fact. It was dealing with the ACL is not covered. But on the examination when she had her surgery, she had blood work. But you pull that out of the surgery paper, which was bill $27.60 and paid me 25 dollars. So how can you say you do not cover anything Dealing with the ACL but you can pull out her labs for blood work and cover that. It don't makes sense. I will have to get in touch with somebody to get a clear understanding of this.

Note your dog's weight at policy setup!!
MAKE SURE THEY HAVE YOUR DOG'S EXACT WEIGHT WHEN YOU SET UP YOUR POLICY. Here's the deal: I'm mostly very pleased with my Embrace insurance policy. They have covered everything I've needed them to and I am grateful to have this policy so I can spring for higher quality healthcare for my dog. However, I found out recently that for the past two years that I've been overcharged (by about 2x) because I noted at the start of the policy that my dog is a "mixed breed" (which he is!). I did not see that on the scroll-down menu, they also list "mixed breed" at various weights, and if you don't select one of those options, they'll just charge you as if your dog is medium-sized. MY DOG IS 12 LBS. I called and got this fixed, and while they're going to re-adjust my policy for the following years, I do not get any sort of rebate or even an apology for the fact that they've been essentially fleecing me. As a first-time dog owner, I had no idea that the entire price of the policy hinged on me selecting the right thing from that drop-down menu (because his exact weight is on his medical records, which Embrace has!!). DO NOT make the same mistake I did! Make sure Embrace has the correct weight for your dog and call to confirm if necessary. Embrace, I do not know WHY you would allow people to setup a policy without inputing an exact weight, if weight is a primary tool for you in calculating the premium. I recommend changing this to avoid folks feeling confused or ripped off.
