Unreasonably long waiting period!!! They won't cover your pet for 30 days!
Buyer Beware:
To anyone considering Trupanion I would suggest to look for an insurance company with a shorter waiting period. Our puppy caught kennel cough 26 days after starting his insurance policy, and we ended up with more than $1000 in bills, as Trupanion considers this a preexisting condition within their waiting period of 30 day. Most other insurance companies waiting period is only 14 days. Among them are https://www.mypeppermint.ca/, https://www.petsecure.com/, https://www.petassure.com/, https://www.petfirst.com/, https://www.petsplusus.com/
- In fact - I have yet to find another pet insurance company with a 30 day waiting period for illnesses.
