Not worth getting this insurance
I recently had an emergency procedure for my dog, a few months after purchasing this insurance. The whole procedure bill was over $800, which also covered my $500 deductible. After the insurance agency reviewed my claim, all I was refunded was $50. I spend $70 a month for this insurance, and all I got back was a bill that doesn't even cover the monthly payment. Honestly, I think unless you find yourself in a situation where you need to pay over $5000, the pet insurance is not worth it. Within a year of just putting the $70 a month into a savings plan, that alone would cover this bill.
Easy and great coverage
I have Pets Best for 3 of my 4 dogs (the 4th was already covered with another company) and it is easy to upload claims, they are responsive within days, and I have gotten reimbursements per my policy within a few weeks. I have been very pleased with all my interactions with this company. My dog had to see a specialist for a chronic cough and there was no hesitation from Pets Best in regards to reimbursing me. I work at a vet clinic and have heard stories from clients about other companies making it really difficult to get reimbursed and that many of the companies try to get out of paying for legitimate claims.
Awesome insurance company
I have two dogs insured with Healthy Paws. Both have needed surgery, which was quite costly. Most recent one was for a herniated disc. The other one had TPLO surgery and meniscus repair. They are working dogs. Without the insurance, I would be buried in debt. Filing is easy and the folks are awesome to work with! I highly recommend this pet insurance!

Used to be decent
The policy changed hands to another company and is terrible now. The total monthly premium costs the same amount as the deductible. And there is a very low limit for coverage annually. I’d be paying out $1400 annually for a $2500 limit of coverage. It honestly makes more sense to just put the money in a savings account every month.

My experience this morning was…great!
My experience this morning was outstanding! My problem was heard and dealt with. My overall premium was reduced n a way that makes sense to me and I appreciated the creative thinking that went into managing this. The tone of the call was friendly and the time it took was not an issue as I enjoyed it so much ! Highly recommend this agent! Thank you!

Confusing
While I appreciate the idea of insurance...I have struggled to understand what is and is NOT covered. I thought that an injury/illness would be covered up to the % we selected - not subject to the deductible - which seems to be applied to our wellness plan. It is somewhat confusing.

My experience with SpotPetSource has…
My experience with SpotPetSource has been horrible. Their claims and reimbursement process is unreliable, misleading, and frustrating, making it nearly impossible to trust their service.

Claim taking weeks to review as they ask for information I’ve already provided
Healthy paws advertises in big print on their front page that most claims are settled in two days. I’m over three weeks into mine. They sent me an email saying that the invoice I sent isn’t valid, because it needs to be itemized and contain a bunch of specific details. It was itemized and contained everything they listed. So I called and talked to an agent who looked at the bill, agreed it was itemized and said she’d tell the underwriter to review it as is. The status of my claim updated to in progress, but a few days later I logged in to check and it was back to requesting the same information, except this time they didn’t email me or give any notice. I emailed and explained in detail that my invoice fit all their requirements. They responded with a generic email asking for an itemized invoice. These people are unethical, morons or both. Don’t deal with them.
