Great Experience with Trupanion
I would highly recommend Trupanion insurance for pets and do recommend to my clients and friends. (I own a pet essentials business). One year after insuring my Pekingese with Trupanion, she developed Lymphoma. Trupanion has given me the option to extend Pendi's life significantly by treating her with chemotherapy for her cancer. They have paid as stated, 90% after my deductible, excluding office visits. This adds up to a significant amount of money that I could not have spent without insurance. I have found the customer service representatives helpful and caring about solutions to any concerns that I have. I am thankful that I chose this policy vs. other companies that pay some for well visits and "some" for major illnesses. I accept well visits when I adopt a rescue but my need is for catastrophic illnesses. The only reason I didn't give them a 10/10 is that each year they DO raise their premiums more than expected and not necessarily depending upon increased veterinary care cost increase but more so due to the claims they pay out. I am still happy with the insurance and would recommend above any other pet insurance company out there today, based on my experience with Trupanion.

Very Happy with Trupanion
We have put in several different claims with Trupanion on our Yorkshire Terrier puppy. One claim was for a Histiocytoma cytology & removal, which was a growth that was growing around her collar area, and getting bigger. Trupanion reimbursed us 90% of the amount. They processed the claim soon after it was received by them from our Vet via fax and emailed me with updates as to how the claim was progressing, which I think is great service. We got our check within 2 weeks. Another claim was for an extracted retained deciduous tooth. We were reimbursed 90% of the bill within one week!! They are GREAT!

What took so long?
This was about as simple a claim as you could get, yet it took WEEKS for it to get resolved. Thank God it wasn't thousands of dollars I was waiting on. This is my first claim with him. I'm not sure if I would recommend this company or not.

Happy we did - For Abby’s sake
We are very happy we had purchased ASPCA health insurance for our Abby. At our vet’s prior recommendation we purchased the basic plan because she is only 3-1/2 and healthy and never thought we would use it. Two months after she tore her capsule around her kneecap, not a typical injury and not known to breed. I was worried that being new to the service we wouldn’t qualify, but after speaking to a representative we were happy to learn that we would recoup 80% of her surgery cost. We were thrilled! While I had some issues with the website at first, I can attest that every time I spoke with a rep, they were courteous and extremely helpful. I just don’t want to have to use them again too soon....for us, not them!

After receiving a one month, zero deductible free trial our puppy had unknowingly ingested chicken bones. After a morning scare of him not moving, eating or drinking, diarhea and vomiting we took our little guy into the vet. Our puppy required a serious of diagnostic tests to find out the issue as well as an overnight stay our puppy was free to come home. Trupanion responded quickly to our claim. As a university student the bill was worrisome but Our vet bill was reduced by %90. The staff were so supportive and friendly and followed up numerous times to make sure our little guy was happy and healthy. At the end of our trial we had no doubt in our mind that we would continue coverage.

Magie and Danny
After my Scottish terrier Maggie was diagnosed with cancer, I found out how expensive treatment could be. When my little Scottie Danny came home I made sure he had insurance coverage. Unfortunately Danny needed that coverage. HE GOT CANCER ALSO. BUT WITH THE PET INSRUANCE HE WAS ABLE TO GET CHEMO AND LIVE AND ENJOY HIS FAMILY FOR ANOTHER YEAR. Now Mitzi and Barney are in our lives and have insurance for unexpected illnesses.
