Nationwide will gladly take your money… AND THEN DROP YOU WHEN YOU REALLY NEED THEM.
Nationwide will gladly take your money UNTIL your pet is 8 years old. Paid for the plan for 8 years, rates went up every year until I'm now paying $121.76 a month. Just got a letter ON JAN 1, 2025 of NON RENEWAL as of March 2025 and called them to find out why. Basically - telling me "It is what it is". They won't offer anything but an ACCIDENT Plan - no more Illness or Wellness Plan for my 8 yeas old who has a pre-existing eye condition (for two years - which nobody else will now cover.) So going forward - he'd have to get hit by a CAR for them to cover anything!!! So Nationwide basically takes your dog while their still young, takes your money and then when they're old enough to actually need it you get dropped. I AGREE WITH A PREVIOUS ENTRY - RUN AWAY FROM THIS RIP OFF COMPANY, THEY WILL DROP YOU WHEN YOU REALLY NEED IT.

Insurance never pays out
As with almost all insurance, we pay annually in the hopes that our dog will be covered when he has large medical expenses. He has been covered for the last 5 years - since he was a puppy. This year he fractured a tooth that needed to be removed. Most line items were determined to be ineligible for coverage. It's hard to imagine switching to another provider because the issue stems from the insurance industry itself. Nor can we forgo coverage completely in case something even more catastrophic occurs... We just have to hope that he's covered at that time.

Best dog Insurance
We have French bull dogs who can come with a lot of medical issues. We decided to insure our first dog who had the most issues with petsbest and I am so glad we did. We had one of the more expensive plans paying $80/month as a puppy and up to $120 by the time she was 4. In her life she had to have a cancerous tumor removed that was going to cost around $3500 and our plan paid for almost all of it. Then right before we had to put her down we had an expensive visit for x rays and other medicine. Once we hit our deductible we got the extra money back. Their claims process is always easy through online, the app can be a little more finicky but recently claims had be also gone through pretty fast, at least with in the month. On this last claim they noticed cremation was on the receipt and canceled our policy for us and gave us a prorated refund for the month we just paid for. This removed so much stress at such a hard time. PetsBest truly cares.
