Great and quick service!
Great service, I submitted my first claim with ease and the response was quick. I had a few questions and they were eager to help. I appreciated dealing with such an amazing company during a difficult time.
Got this insurance after I got my puppy. Since he is a puppy, he ate everything he could find and more. Got sick multiple times with different intestinal parasites, and coughs etc etc..
Remember that even after all the vaccines, dogs can still get parasites from dog parks, bird poops, fish carcass from beach etc.
He also had other symptoms that I was scared was from blockage.
You also gotta remember that when your pet is sick, Vets do lots of tests to figure out what exactly is causing it depending on the symptoms and what happened.
That can cost a lot. Also he was in intensive care for 1 day because he was not eating or drinking on his own until he got better. That will also cost.
Healthy Paws paid for it all 80% minus my deductible. I only wish I chose the 90% when I first got the insurance. Because you cannot change from 80 to 90 if you file a claim which makes sense.
Also waiting period if I remember correctly is 15 days. So get your pet insurance before it is too late.
They don’t cover routine stuff like vaccines etc but will cover illnesses and stuff that really put a dent in your wallet. If I didn’t make a decision to get pet insurance, everything would have been out of pocket. Get your pet insurances people! Especially if you got a new puppy. Puppies are crazy unpredictable. Puppies are crazy. so much work and money
Good customer service, prompt and efficient in the reimbursement.
We just started the pet insurance with Trupanion Canada. My puppy got injured on his leg and we got the reimbursement promptly (within 5 days).
They have good customer service team, they answered all my queries clearly before I purchased/select the insurance plan & coverage, I would recommend Trupanion Canada to others.
So, I decided to get pet insurance for my brand new pup almost four years ago and it has been one of the best decisions I've ever made! When I was younger, I had a golden retriever born with hip dysplasia. Despite not being able to be as active outdoors with him, he wound up being the greatest dog I ever had. The cost of surgery made it impossible for me as a kid to afford it. He still lived a great life, but I always wondered how he would have been if we could have afforded the hip replacements... Fast-forward ten years and I get this new pup with endless energy! I decided to look into pet insurance because I wanted to make sure this little guy would get the best care in the event anything happened. I checked all the reviews and decided to go with Healthy Paws, which had high ratings. What they offered was affordable and has been a lifesaver to me. He has gone from diving into murky pools and getting weird nasal infections to tearing his CCL this past month. You pay upfront, but they reimburse whatever percentage you agree on in your policy. I couldn't be happier. They cover medications, surgeries and are currently covering his rehab! You are expected to pay for your fur kiddo's yearly exams, etc, but in those unforeseen circumstances, you will thank the stars you have your policy. I recommend Healthy Paws to everyone as an insurer. I couldn't be happier and more thankful to make sure my big guy is taken care of! They're friendly, easy to get ahold of, and very quick on reimbursements. Please, do yourself and your fur kiddo a favor!
Amazingly easy, super efficient, unbelievable turn around of claim processing and receiving payment.
My husband told me not to continue with the insurance after our free month from the breeder. I decided to continue with it as the monthly premiums were very reasonable. We had a chocolate lab that passed away two years ago from cancer and the bills were ridiculous. Our puppy was from a very reputable breeder so his thought was "What could go wrong?" At about 6 1/2 months our puppy started to limp. He's a very active little guy and our vet thought that it might be a bruise. After 10 days the limp continued and we saw an orthopedic specialist. Our little guy was diagnosed with elbow dysplasia. So glad I kept the insurance. There is no guarantee that your puppy is going to be free of any disease or defect. We did everything right and i wouldn't trade my love bug in for anything. I cant say how amazingly simple Trupanion has made our life. We paid our deductible and they paid the 90% as quoted. I just emailed the bill for his surgery on Friday and it was approved Sunday morning and payment is on its way. This has been a very incredible experience for me and needless to say my husband is thankful that i didn't listen to him for a change:) Thank you Trupanion for making our experience amazing. I would absolutely recommend Trupanion to anyone that is planning on adopting a companion.
"Hell no, we won't pay..." That's their motto. Pets Best is the most dishonest and despicable company ever. Nowhere in my policy states that reimbursement for euthanasia is contingent to a preexisting condition, namely my beagle's liver cancer. The company already denied all but one of the claims because of a trivial lab result which was rebuked by 2 of my veterinarians in 2 appeals; but to deny the reimbursement for euthanasia was the last straw. On top of that, Pets Best billed me twice in January after I notified them that my beagle Nicky was euthanized on December 12. The company sent me a run of the mill condolence card and a check for one of the charges, not the 2. I requested my credit card company to reverse the outstanding charge as I expected their refusal to honor my dispute, and now I see that they were able to counter the chargeback. Keep in mind I will still go after that refund and I will publish a more detailed experience with this horrible company. My advice: if you have an older dog or cat, set aside a fund for them, like an HSA for your pets; don't buy pet insurance. ALL INSURANCE companies will find a way to reject a claim by flagging any trivial lab result or incident (e.g., if your dog had an ear infection, they will deny a claim for the treatment of a cough years later). If an ailment was covered in a given year, it will excluded from coverage in the next renewal; ALL PET INSURANCE COMPANIES DO THIS.
Outstanding rapid professional claim response with total clarification for coverage paid directly to checking account
Outstanding rapid professional claim response with total clarification for coverage paid directly to checking account. (this previous one line describes our service experience) ....I had some questions as to coverage and Katie Youmans (terrific follow up and concern) customer service as quick to respond via email and "live communication". I'm very impressed with Trupanion and can't imagine any other pet insurance company having coverage service equal to Trupanion. They treat customers like family, even asking "how is Kaz (our Havasu "child" ) dong? A first class company in which I will spread the word for referrals. An extremely satisfied customer, Chuck Bottke ,St. Petersburg ,FL
Easy to work with, willing to listen and reconsider
I bought Trupanion pet insurance for my two younger black labs who were healthy. The two year old had an injury a few months in to the policy. She suddenly couldn't walk after a run.
In my effort(as a physician) to give a complete history I unknowlingly gave Trupanion and one of the vets the idea that she had a preexisitng injury(she had a rpevious shoulder very mild tendonitis).
My claim was initially denied but when I and the vets clarified the history, Trupanion over turned their own claim denial and paid for the claim.
I think this is pretty impressive.
The whole process was smooth and all Trupanion employees were kind and compassionate.
My daughter is a vet and I have told her to recommend Trupanion to her clients.
High ratings for Trupanion from me for sure.
