Trupanion has been fantastic!
Our puppy has had more than her fair share of illness in her young life. In the past, my family has never even insured their pets, but when we took her in for her first vet visit, they gave us the 30 day trial with Trupanion and after looking into the policy we decided to go ahead and sign up with them. Thank goodness we did! Unfortunately, we have had to visit the Emergency Vet more times in her young life than I ever did with all of our family pets combined. As unfortunate and stressful as this is, the knowledge that we had Trupanion and our beloved puppy was covered gave us great comfort. Trupanion has processed our claims very quickly and without issue. We are truly grateful for Trupanion and recommend them to everyone we know who owns a pet.

Our 10 month old puppy (Papillon/Pomeranian mix) was diagnosed with bilateral luxating patellas and required medial patella luxation (MPL) surgery on both hind legs. Trupanion covered 90% of all the costs involved with his condition, returning thousands of dollars to us within a week of submitting the one-page claim form. We cannot express how thankful to have chosen Trupanion as our pet insurance provider!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

I have been paying 22 a month for a year, I took my cat three times for eye problems, they said I had to follow up or I would not be paid, now they are refusing to pay at all because she had problems when she was a baby. Most kittens have eye issues so I think they just want to find an excuse to not pay me Do Not waste your money

Disappointed
This is the first claim in eight years I have made with the ASPCA plan. It is $1,177 for diagnostic xrays, visit and mediation, and two-and-a-half months after I filed it, it still has not been paid. I received an email after a month saying they needed more info from the vet, then another the next week saying they got it. Nothing since then. Called last week and they said they would expedite payment. Nothing yet. Very frustrating and disappointing experience.

EXCEPTIONAL, EXCELLENT PET INSURANCE
If there was one company to compare healthy paws insurance with, it would be Nordstrom. They go above and beyond in their customer service. All questions are promptly answered whether it be through e-mail or phone. There's no catches with this company, they are upfront about what they'll cover. My dog ended up having to go to the emergency room for various complications, died, but was resuscitated. He was hospitalized for several days, racking up a bill of approximately $3,000+. The claim was processed within the day, reimbursement check was in the mail within a week! I got back $2700+. They are great with following up before and after the claim, seem to show care for our pets. I cannot recommend this company enough, this is the insurance company to get for your dog!
