Way better than my last company

I cannot speak highly enough of Embrace Pet Insurance...and their staff. We've carried pet insurance on our dogs since 1990. Back then, there was only one pet insurance company...one did not have a choice. We do now! Our dogs issues have included pancreatitis, estrogen toxicity, embedded foxtail, cysts, and canine alopecia. Have one scheduled for dental work (broken tooth) and lump removal next month. As soon as they receive the claim, they notify me and it's easy to check on the claim process. Once our deductible was met (which didn't take long) - the reimbursement check from Embrace doesn't take more than a couple of weeks. Timely and courteous service.

Excellent service

I am so pleased with my policy with Trupanion! Having the insurance coverage has made it possible for me to ensure quality of life for my pet. Due to allergies my Springer Spaniel, Winston, has severe dermatitis issues. Thank goodness for the coverage and the great service we have received from Trupanion!

Disappointed in Dental Coverage

I submitted a claim for my dog for dental treatment. She had 6 teeth removed, cleaning and a lump in her mouth biopsied. The bill was $3,200.00 I understood that on her plan she has $600.00 for dentistry but I didn't think that a lump on her gums would be considered part of this $600.00 claim. According to the person on the phone it is! I don't understand this. If my dog had a lump on her back it would be covered but because it's in her mouth it's only covered up to the $600.00. I'm disappointed. I also think they should supply a booklet outlining in detail what is covered and what is not covered. As pet owners we only get a very simplified version on line without a detailed booklet to refer to.

Very quick service

I hadn't had the insurance but maybe 2 months when my pug, Sunny, swallowed some bones and the vet had to induce vomiting. The claim was processed very quickly and a follow up call was placed to me to ask how Sunny was doing which impressed me very much. My own insurance company doesn't do that! Very pleased so far with this insurance.

Premiums are expensive

I think the company does a good job and pays without too much hassle but their premium increases this year seem steep so I'm cancelling. A 3 year old dog went from $278.03 to $332.47 a year and a 1 year old dog went from $473.31 to $409.34 a year. Both have $200 deductibles & 10% co-pay plans. I will save the $68.64 a month for an emergency.
