Embrace should run Obamacare
I'm a doctor who deals with health insurance for my patients on a daily basis. I wish every 'Human" insurance carrier handled my patient's claims as efficiently and intelligently as Embrace has handled Lola's claims these last four years. Prompt processing, continuous email followup, and a sense that Embrace really cares about both the pet and the owner. Have had several claims from small to surgery and had the same positive experience each time.

EXCELLENT INSURANCE
Have had this insurance for close to 2 years and can't say enough good things about it. Have used it a few times and the customer care and service has alwsys been outstanding. Recently had to take my beautiful black labrador to emergency because she had stopped eating and drinking anything and all she wanted to do was lay under the bed. Come to find out she had a foreign matter stuck in her esopagus and required emergency surgery. Thank God for Healthy Paws. I had reimbursement check in my hands in less than a week. Now my little girl is happy again and eating everything in sight and playing with her toys once again. I am so glad I got this insurance.

I give them A+++, great service! claims paid fast
My 12 year old yorkie, Shor-tee, has had this insurance several years. Recently he was very ill could not breath and had to have a tumor removed. It was benign thankfully. My vets office faxed in the claim forms and I got a very quick response that Trupanion was processing them. Within a week I got checks for over $2100 which was just a few hundred less than I paid. This was several trips to vet and 3 nights in emergency care so I am so thankful I had insurance. My Shor-tee is doing great now and is more spoiled than ever. He is part of my family.

Awesome customer service
Healthy Paws is awesome. Both of my girls have had illnesses that we would not have been able to afford without Healthy Paws. Daisy our 2 1/2 yr old Cavalier King Charles spaniel was recently diagnosed with cancer. She has undergone surgery and is now facing several weeks of radiation (estimated cost $6000) Healthy Paws received and processed my claim within 24 hrs. What a blessing to know that Healthy Paws has my girls covered. I have recommended Healthy Paws to all of my friends and family members and shared countless stories on Facebook of how grateful we are for Healthy Paws.

Our 2nd claim. Our dog was diagnosed with bladder stones and needed surgery. I submitted a pre authorization request for a Monday surgery at 5pm central time on a Friday night and had a phone call and approval by 8pm. Fabulous. They worked with our vet to get all the required records and receipts and our checks arrived within a week. I received phonecalls, well wishes and even a follow up call to ask how she was doing after surgery. My dog is my baby, and having her sick and in surgery was traumatic enough for me. The one bright light was knowing Trupanion was there for us and the caring and responsive attention they gave to us. The entire process was seamless from start to finish. I enthusiastically recommend them to anyone and give them my thanks for taking such good care of Bea.

Very bad plan
My dog started getting sick in September. He was diagnosed with diabetes in October. October was the beginning of a new plan period. Because he started becoming sick in September but didn't get treatment until October, ASPCA would not cover any of his expenses. They said since he showed symptoms of his disease during a different plan period, he was not eligible to receive any reimbursement. This doesn't make sense and is very unfair.

Good but initial documentation could be better
Overall, I am very pleased with Healthy Paws. They genuinely seem to care about the health of my pet, reimburse me quickly, and make filing claims relatively fast and easy. My only complaint was my first experience with filing a claim. I submitted my dog's medical history repeatedly and would still get auto-generated emails asking for more documentation. The problem was I never knew what they were specifically asking for. After several calls and email exchanges I was eventually able to sort it out. Since the initial paperwork filing, my experience with Healthy Paws has been extremely pleasant. Also, I am happy to say that the cost of the insurance is reasonable and it has already paid for itself in terms of helping lessen vet costs. Therefore, I would definitely recommend Healthy Paws to another pet owner.

Hello, I currently have 6 dogs and 1 cat insured with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. I switched from another well-known pet insurance company to Healthy Paws, and I'm so glad I did. Healthy Paws has processed all my claims easily and very quickly, and I've submitted a lot of claims because I have so many. Often my claims for an existing condition are processed in only 1 day or less. Of course newer conditions can take slightly longer, as they have to look over the medical records, but even then it's usually processed within 7-10 days. And when I call them, all of their people are very customer friendly. Additionally, they will even periodically send me an email to check on one of my dogs if they've developed a chronic condition. Many people I meet don't have pet insurance because they've heard bad stories about the other companies, as many of them have strict guidelines and limits on coverage. Through my research, I found out that Healthy Paws has NO yearly or per incident limit on coverage, so I can have peace of mind. And compared to the last company I used, Healthy Paws is significantly cheaper and has never given me a hassle over processing my claims. We'd have no savings by now if it wasn't for having this pet insurance. The very reasonable monthly fee is more than worth it if your dog/cat develops cancer or seizures and needs an MRI or chemo....this has happened multiple times to me over the past few years.
