I'm truly thankful for having Trupanion!
Over a year ago, my dog and I were involved with Strut Your Mut in Los Angeles. I raised money and my Sophie & I were planning to walk for this charity. We never did complete the walk because Sophie started acting weird. I left the ever to take her to her vet and while we were stuck in L.A. traffic, her breathing became awful. By the time we got to the emergency hospital, Sophie was unconscious! The vet brought her back to life and told me how sick she was. I had no idea what a heat stroke would appear like in a dog. I felt horrible. After 6 days (2 in the ICU) in the hospital, and $9K later, Sophie was fully recovered. If I didn't have Trupanion covering 90% of the bill, I would have to had made that awful decision all pet parents dread to make. Sophie is kept out of the sun and heat and I let other pet parents know about HS when I see their pet suffering in the Cali sun, especially during our summer months! I'm not surprised at how many do not know how to tell if their dog is going through the first stages of HS!

Great experience with Embrace!
We sumitted two claims to embrace for our dog wo was quite sick. Finally we got a good diagnosis and our dog is now doing well. Embrace asked for more information on our dog's records from our vet, which were immediately provided. Our claims were processed quickly and efficiently. We received two checks from Embrace and we are now finished. They were excellent and quick to help us. We really appreciate all the help!

Relief In A Stressful Situation
RE: Pet Insurance John and I talked about pet insurance a few times last year, but didn't know anyone else who had it so we weren't sure if it was worth it or not. Fast forward to June, when the universe brought me a horrific story about a friend's experience with dog sitting and the Pet ER that totally rocked my world. I signed the dogs up immediately with Healthy Paws, the insurance we had been considering, and that was that. Just after Labor Day Appa was playing ball with some friends - trying to be the best, as he does - and he started limping. The limp got worse, so we called our Vet and had it checked out. Keeping fingers crossed that it was just a soft tissue injury, we waited a few more days and it got worse. Back to the Vet. This week he had surgery to repair his torn cruciate ligament, and we are embarking on a two month recovery followed by two months of rehab. With a 50% chance he'll damage his other leg at some point, our insurance covered $3,400 of a $4,400 hospital bill. On top of that, since this wasn't a pre-existing condition his other legs are covered (heaven forbid) he should tear another. No one ever plans for a pet emergency, but in this instance having the insurance and knowing we could afford to pursue the best course of treatment available for our Appa made this whole situation just the teensiest bit less stressful. So, if you are like we were last year and are considering pet insurance but don't know anyone who has it: we have it. We have used it. And we would happily recommend Healthy Paws if you want a plan that covers the unexpected!

I searched many policies before selecting HealthyPaws. We've had our police for over a year and change, but it wasn't until this year where we fully utilized it. Our dog had an ingested pills on accident and had to be rushed to ER. We escaped that incident okay, however Two weeks later we learned our dog had a tear in his CCL and required TPLO surgery.healthypaws came in so helpful we didn't have to think twice about our dogs care. Mobile app also makes it super easy to process claims. Great service over phone and email, fast turnaround too!

When I put my three month old puppy to sleep on a Saturday night she was fine, but by morning I could see she was lethargic and I knew something was wrong. I took her immediately to the Pet Er where x-rays showed she had pneumonia . She received IV fluids, antibiotics and oxygen. The final cost including x-rays was $2,000. After my deductible I received a check from Trupanion for $1,200 within two weeks. I received several updates about my claim. It was the best decision I made to get Trupanion as soon as I brought home the puppy home.

Smooth Sailing
I provided the claim form to my vet. They faxed it in. Within 10 days, I had a check for my share. Worked perfectly, as far as I was concerned. Also good communication from the assistors - sending me email telling me where my claim was, and checking on if I received my check. Highly recommend.
