Love Pets Best
I have a senior dog with arthritis and a heart condition, so I have had a lot of claims with Pets Best. The claims process is super easy and Pets Best has paid all of my claims without question. I highly recommend Pets Best.
Extremely easy claim process
I was so worried about having to pay for a large emergency surgical bill up front. I didn't have time to reach out to insurance since my dog was suddenly paralyzed in his back legs. I put the $9k deposit on my credit card to rush my dog to emergency surgery -- I crossed my fingers that insurance would cover it. I've read some horrifying stories about claim delays and rejections so I was a bit anxious. However, I cannot recommend Pets Best enough. They're significantly cheaper than all competitors for the same coverage and approved my claim in just over a week from submission. Not a single line on the invoice (from medications to the operation) was rejected from coverage. Pet insurance is something you buy and hope to never use. Thankfully, I had Pets Best during what was one of the most traumatic experiences for me. I've read too many heartbreaking stories of people having to put their pet down because they couldn't afford care. I'm glad that I wasn't in that position.

Great Pet Insurance
"My Siberian had TPLO surgeries on both knees and PetsBest covered BOTH knees which a lot of companies won't do. I've been with PetsBest for many years and have never had an issue with them. My two previous huskies were epileptic and PetsBest insurance covered their medication, CT scans, and other medical necessities. "

I have had pets plus us and my dog Benito for 5 years. I applied for this insurance upon welcoming our family frenchie into our home and I have never had to use it up until now, and let me just say that while our doggie has never had any serious health concerns the unexpected happened and pets plus us made it so easy the whole way through this lengthy process of trying to figure out what was going on with our pet and further more when i was unsure of how to proceed with certain claims i was able to call customer service and talk to a real life person who not only guided me through the claim for reimbursement but was compassionate in asking me how my dog and myself were doing while figuring out care. that was an extra that i truly wasn't expecting but it felt good to know that i was being viewed as more than a claim. I highly recommend them not only is the coverage great but so is the customer service and the process is incredibly easy. Thank you pets plus for making a scary situation a whole lot easier to go through. Ps: Benito is going to be A-ok after some treatments that I can afford for him thanks to his coverage!!
Stay away
We signed up for pet insurance a year ago. We got denied our claim the first time we had to use it. You are better off putting money in savings for pet insurance than paying for a corrupt business that chooses what it wants to pay. My dog had NO pre-existing condition. My dog got his first ear infection, and he was denied. Now, we lose money paying monthly pet insurance and a vet bill. Do you think they would offer us a refund? Absolutely not! SCAM SCAM: The best advice I can give is to avoid this company.

Best Pet Insurance Ever!!
I have a labradoodle that loves to eat absolutely anything! (including socks) He has already had 2 surgeries to remove contents from his intestines and stomach. The first surgery, we did not have insurance. We decided that since he loved eating everything, we probably needed to get insurance for him. After doing some research, we decided to go with and Accident & Illness Plan through Pets Best. They have been extremely easy to work with and have reviewed and paid, or applied to our deductible, every claim we have had to submit on our labradoodle. We highly recommend giving them a try!
Claim approved, payment never came
I've made about 6 calls, 4 in one day. They covered my claim and then said it was processed on their end on 3/10, it's 3/18 and the payment is nowhere to be found. At first they said call if it's not there in 3 days, now all the sudden it's 7-10 days. They just keep telling me that it's "approved and paid out" on their end, but they can't even tell me the full account number they sent it to. I've been back and forth with them and the bank for DAYS, the bank has ZERO record and it was never direct deposited. I had to escalate it to a manager on the 6th call because they just kept saying it looked like it was paid in their system and wouldn't give me any answers besides "call your bank". Finally they agreed to put a trace on the payment and said it would likely take a full day to go through and they'd call me with the info. 2 days later, no phone call and no info. Cancelling as soon as they pay me. Update: it's March 24, Spot responded to this review saying they'd "look into it" 3 days ago and I haven't heard anything from them and I'm still missing my almost $700 they owe me. Update: 4/1/2025, no reimbursement

BEST PET INSURANCE
Honestly, the best thing we ever did was buy pet insurance for our 2 dogs. Our 6 year old dog was running across the yard, tore his ACL. SPOT reimbursed us within a month! All we had to do was contact the vet, have all records plus an itemized bill faxed or emailed to the Claims Dept. very easy to work with. We highly recommend this insurance.

Both representatives I spoke to today were polite and knowledgeable. Daniel was particularly helpful and took a lot of time to answer my questions and explain the options to me. Thank you for continuing to be a great company. I’ve truly only had good experiences with Nationwide Pet Insurance.
