Unduly Restrictive Coverage Denial
Our Pitbull had a paw cyst removed when 2. No sign of cancer or reoccurence om the months to follow (he is now 4). After submitting full medical records last Aug 13, Embrace gladly accepted our dog for their coverage. However, this changed with his first illness claim 9 months later. Embrace replied their underwriter - erring on the side of safety for Embrace, deemed the cyst was possibly cancerous and therefore would be labeled a reoccuring and pre-existing cancerous condition warranting denial of any future cancer or mass removal claims when this young dog gets much older. I might add, despite the coverage denial for cancer, Embrace did not make any effort to reduce the monthly premium. Credit to them, they were very polite through the process, but it is like being stabbed in the heart with a knife while your attacker smiles. Needless to say, we won't be staying with Embrace any longer and unless you want to risk delayed coverage denial (for no valid reason) I would recommend you stay away from Embrace.

Great customer service
I was very pleased with my first claim experience with Trupanion. I bought the policy in January and had a $1400+ bill in May for papilloma virus. The claim was processed quickly, and payment arrived quickly too. The adjuster initially interpreted the invoice/medical records to reflect two conditions and thus applied two deductibles. I called and was told to have my vet email the appeals department to clarify that only one condition was diagnosed. The appeal process took a little longer than the initial claims process, but less time than was advertised. Trupanion incorporated the new information and reimbursed me for the second deductible. My vet's note also included a new, younger estimate of my dog's age, which Trupanion changed for me, which lowered my monthly premium. As a health care provider, I appreciate that Trupanion trusted my vet's judgment and treatment without question. All in all, it was an excellent experience and money well spent.

Excellent Service
My claims were submitted automatically by the Receptionist at my Vet's office, and within 24 hours I received an email notice that it was being processed. When I called them with a question, the staff member was quick, cheerful, and inquired about my let's well-being. I have nothing but positive things to say about Trupanion.

Peace of mind in our rescue dog's health
We rescued Rumble, our pit/shepherd mix, in July of 2013 at only 8 weeks old, and decided to get Healthy Paws insurance by mid-August. Since getting the insurance, she had kennel cough, pneumonia, an allergic reaction to vaccines, possible stomach obstruction, hookworm, carpal laxity, mange, skin irritations, and GI issues for a few months. Recently, she became ill again, and blood tests confirmed Hemobartonella and Babesia, blood borne parasites often passed on from the mother. While we would have provided Rumble with everything she needs regardless, it's been wonderful not having to worry about the financial burden we could be facing. Healthy Paws became familiar with us quickly, and handled every claim faster than I could imagine! I received the reimbursement checks within a week of filing the claims. We couldn't be luckier with our rescue pup, despite all of her health issues, and are thankful Healthy Paws is there for us and Rumble!

Awesome!
My experience with Healthy Paws was awesome. My year and half old dachshund had an ulcer on her eye and gastritis in a 2 month period. I didn't send in the claim on the eye issue but when the gastritis resulted in an overnight hospital stay the representative I spoke to suggested I file the claim for both. I was glad I did. Between the prompt courteous customer service, to the multiple ways to file a claim my experience was EXCELLENT. Did I mention, I was kept abreast of the entire process of the claim, and my check arrived from WA to FL in matter of two days! The service at Healthy Paws more than exceeded my expectations. If only human health insurance companies were so easy to work with.

Unfair Coverage Practices!
We purchased Pets Best Insurance for our dog in July of 2013. This month, 11 months after purchasing the insurance, our dog tore his ACL and needed a replacement. We did not see the disclosure on the policy that stated that an ACL replacement would not be covered in the first 12 months of the policy. Needless to say, they wouldn't cover it. We accept this. Here's the issue, Pets Best's new policy is to cover the cost of an ACL replacement after only 2 WEEKS of purchasing a policy. So, someone who has paid 11 MONTHS into a policy gets NOTHING and someone who has only paid 1 MONTH CAN GET IT COVERED!!!

New to Healthy Paws and already a great experience
Just 16 days after we started our coverage with Healthy Paws our dog had a severe and life-threatening allergic reaction to something he ate. We rushed him to our emergency vet not even thinking about insurance coverage. We were so pleased to find that our policy was in effect and the claims process was quick and easy. It really brings me peace of mind to know we can get the best care for our dog when we need it.
