Clear and fair

Embrace staff are always available to provide assistance needed. They have clear explanation of benefits that are easy to understand, communicate promptly and are fair in their assessments of coverage. I have been with them for two months and have had nothing but a good experience.

low stress claim process

Having used several other pet insurance carriers of the last 10+ years, I was very pleasantly surprised by the quick and efficient way in which our claims were handled. It took away an aspect of stress that you don't need when you're dealing with a pet's surgery.

Fine Print Deductible

Went in to see the vet with my four month old puppy with diarrhea and several other complaints. Bill tallied up to 1200$ and I was thinking "thank goodness I opted for insurance" however my $600 deductible is per issue and they broke down my claim into four different (but all connected to diarrhea ultimately) medical issues. They covered nothing and my deductible isn't close to being met on any of those issues so when I go next week for my follow up nothing will be covered still. Why am I giving them $50 a month if they won't help me get my puppy healthy. I am obviously frustrated but Trupanion might be more helpful if you choose to have no deductible but watch out for the monthly rate you'll have!

outstanding

Our puppy had a broken leg. We emailed the 1 completed form and all the vet notes and detailed bill from the hospital. Trupanion contacted our other vet for full chart notes and then in about 10 days the check was already in my hands. Couldn't be easier.

The best investment in my life!

I adopted a 50-pound Shepherd mix from a rescue foundation about one and a half years ago. I named him Sano because it means a "healthy boy" in Italian. When I brought my dog for the initial check-up after adoption, the vet told me that my dog would be healthy because he shouldn't have the genetic diseases in some of the known breed dogs. I was hesitated to get pet insurance because of the vet's comment but fortunately, I made the right decision to be a customer of Healthy Paws in August 2013. About 3 months ago in early March 2014, Sano was playing and running with me on a baseball field like usual. Suddenly, his back right leg was limping. He left his leg up and would not touch the ground with it for over a day. He also looked in pain. Guess what, he torn his CCL! After doing some researches, I opt for the TPLO surgery. In the Bay Area, there is really no "cost effective" orthopedic surgeon. UC Davis is very well known for its relatively lower price and good services but it could take over 2 months to be on the waiting list. Sano was in pain so I didn't want to wait. I brought him to a prestigious orthopedic surgeon for a check-up and consultation. Well, prestigious = costly! The estimated cost of the TPLO surgery with following checkups was $6000. I wondered if my pet insurance would cover all the costs. Since I have stable income, I didn't wait but scheduled the TPLO surgery in within a week. I called Healthy Paws the same day asking them if there was a list of "certif

My saving grace

Embrace Pet Insurance has been my piece of mind. Luckily for us our FINLEY hasn't needed much in the way of emergency care. But the "piece of mind" is worth the monthly premium. I know that if something major would present itself that I would be able to do what is best for my dog. I will continue with EMBRACE for the life of my best little buddy. The reimbursement check is received quickly and deposited in my account. I can rest easy knowing that whatever my canine needs I can afford his treatment due to having EMBRACE as his insurance! Thank you for all that you do.

Fantastic personal service

I had almost forgotten about my insurance until my dog had a series of health problems arise. I had no idea until this past month whether Healthy Paws would live up to their reputation but after submitting 4 vet bills and getting a speedy reimbursement (once past the deductible) I can say that this is a premium insurance company. Before sending in my first bill, I called with a couple of questions. The woman I spoke to was warm and friendly, possibly moreso than any customer service I've experienced. The only thing missing is their iphone app which will make it even easier to submit vet bills online (but it's already very easy).
