First time user of Pet Insurance

I was not certain if I would like pet insurance and if it would pay without a lengthy wait, as does Medicare!!! The staff was courteous and the process of claim was began what seemed like the first day it was received by Trupanion. Today a received a check for a claim that was less than one month old. Part of the Vet bill I did not pay once my deductible was met. At this writing I am happy with my choice and I did not have to decline any testing that was appropriate for the illness.

Liver issue

I was very happy with the way my Teddy's liver issued was paid. It is on going and I have met my deductible for this issue and I will not have to pay again as he goes back and we see how his liver is doing. He was not born with the issue. The vet thinks hormonal possibly. He is 8 and a Yorkie. I have very happy I have this policy. Thank you!

Quick and efficient

I have three dogs ( a new flat coat retriever puppy, a 4 year old flat coat retriever who is new to me and a 6 year old lab), and bought insurance when I got the new puppy in May. So far (thank goodness) I have only used the wellness part of the insurance. I was very pleased to see a very quick and efficient processing and the claim check in my post office box very quickly.

Get insurance -- go with Trupanion

I have never been so happy about a purchase as I am with Trupanion. This is my first time with pet insurance, and I have so far had a great experience. Trupanion was very quick to pay my claims each time, and they are really good about staying in touch via email while your claim is being processed. I am so glad I have the insurance and that I have it with Trupanion. A friend of mine has insurance through a different company and her experience has not been nearly as positive.

Quite satisfied

I insured my Doberman puppy when he was 4 mo old. Puppies being puppies, I figured he would end up getting into something. Trupanion said the younger the age I start the insurance the better because at his age he hasn't typically developed any problems. They cover illnesses that develop 30 days after being on insurance and injuries are covered immediately. They do direct billing with many vets in my home city of Calgary. I really like that as vet bills are often VERY outrageous. Vets sure like to over charge. They don't have a list available to show who does direct billing; too hard to keep track for them. It will be up to the insured to ask about direct billing with your vet. The insurance I got for Tracer was one that gave me the best coverage. Zero deductible-meaning I don't have to pay a certain percentage of vet costs before they cover the rest, with 90% reimbursement of my bill, minus the cost of the exam fee. Upon my first claim they expressed sincere concern. It was clear in the tone and pitch of the rep I spoke to that they love animals. I was provided with good customer service with a bit of a personal touch. I was given good direction as to what I needed to do for my 1st, hopefully last, claim. I received an emailed form to bring to my vet to fill out within minutes of calling Trupanion so I was able to get Tracer to the Dr quickly. This saved me from having to make two trips to my vet- one for my puppy & one to submit form. It helps if the vet assistants at the
