I've had nothing but good with this company
When our Rocky had a cancerous tumor around his behind and they removed it, it was quite costly, but we got a nice refund from VPI.

Great Insurance
I had senior dogs covered that had exusting conditions. Being older they developed other problems. Most of their expenses were covered after the deductable. If I get more animals they will be covered by Embrace

Best Company
My German Shepherd Nero had 2 torn ACLs within a year, about $3000 each. Healthy Paws covered 90% of the cost (per my policy). Quick return, quick handling of the claim. I have used them for my female German Shepherd Ally (over the rainbow bridge now), including her final bill (sad), which was over $4000. I was with another Insurance company a few years ago, they (and pretty much all others) have a limited amount they will cover, which is not very reassuring when your bill goes into the many thousands. Both my current shepherds are insured with Healthy Paws and I recommend them to everyone with a dog.

Love my experience, ASPCA really came through
We are so thankful to have ASPC a pet insurance. Not only did they cover the knee surgery for our black lab, but they made every step of the process easy and understandable. I've heard horror stories from people with other pet insurance companies get their claimed denied repeatedly, but when I call a representative at ASPCA there always friendly and genuinely concerned about my pet. I couldn't be more pleased with the service, especially considering how affordable it is. I would recommend them to anyone.

Wonderful insurance company!
After looking at all the reviews, when deciding for insurance for our puppy we decided on Healthy Paws. Now, 4 years later, we are so glad we did. Our Lakeland Terrier had had NO health issues until 3 months ago when he was found to have some sort of liver disease. He has required numerous labs, vet visits, work-ups, and now most recently surgery. Throughout this difficult time, we have been so impressed with Healthy Paws responsiveness and ease for submitting claims. They have been fantastic and we are so grateful.

Trupanion - So Far So Good!!!
I have had my pet insured for over 2 years. She is 14 years old. She had to have an ultrasound the other day, because of a possible medical issue. I was nervous, because this is the first claim I had made. It was so easy however, I literally filled out a few questions and sent it off. Next thing I new it was approved and almost all the amount was covered. I got a check a week later. So happy I have insurance with such a great company!

EXCELLENT COMPANY
When my three year old Dog Maxx was diagnosed as having fluid around his lungs and the severity of his situationand that he needed Specialized Tests and Treatment I called Healthy Paws to find out if I needed any kind of approvals or pre-determination documents. The Customer Service Rep told me no. Just take him in and whatever it takes to get Maxx Healthy again would be covered. It was easier than dealing with my own health insurance company. I can't tell you how happy I am that I had coverage through Healthy Paws They are the Best! Walter Major

Fast claim response
My dog had hip surgery. I submitted my claim form that same day, got confirmation that it was received the next day, and a week later I had a check for $1,100. Very easy process, no hassles at all.

Beware
I had insured my Sheltie with Embrace with the knowledge that she would have pleural effusion and pancreatitis excluded for 1 year as it was a preexisting condition. However, what I did not know, is during their medical review they began to exclude much more. For instance, she lost a tooth so that is noted as a permanent exclusion. Really, is it necessary? We can't replace it! That one I find comical. Her ALT was elevated once but was normal all subsequent tests, now that is excluded for 1 yr. ANYTHING a vet notes, they exclude no matter how minor. ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING that causes ANY signs and or symptoms related to a pre existing condition is excluded. So if you pet had difficulty breathing due to trauma now ANYTHING that causes difficulty breathing is excluded for 1 year. So if your dog gets say a bad cold and it affects their breathing, you're SOL. If a vet "suspects" a possible illness, it becomes a pre-existing condition. Like when they say "The test suggests an enlarged liver." Well, say goodbye to any and all liver diseases or anything that affects the liver even if its not liver related. Yet, when a Dr. says its unlikely a pre existing condition is the cause, the claim is denied. So you see, they are very broad on their exclusions and have a double standard for determining a pre-existing condition. "Suspect/Suggest a finding"= excluded for 1 yr. Claim that states "Not likely a an identified pre-existing condition"= DENIED. So be careful. Make sure your dog is groomed before seeing a vet because if there is any note of dandruff, dermatological condition is excluded for 1 year. Get their anal sacs drained too otherwise that's excluded for 1 yr. Overweight? Excluded for 1 yr. ANY abnormal blood values, not matter the cause, excluded for 1 year. When I say ANY, I mean ANY. The staff so far have been nice, I have to admit that however their broad "ANY AND ALL RELATED SIGNS SYMPTOMS" is outrageously extensive. Got a crusty in the eye- excluded for 1 yr as conjunctivitis. Have a claim for a covered illness but also causes a pre-existing to flare up= DENIED. Best to get this insurance when your dog is a pup or there's been no vet visit within a year because anything said is excluded. As I stated in the beginning, certain exclusions I agree with but some I totally think are wrong. So be careful when considering this company.
