Routine care

My experience has for the most part been positive. I had one situation, and a very costly one, that I thought Trupanion could have stepped up to the plate. They are very tied to "a condition". ie - My pet needed to have a very boxer dental disease of a bleeding epulus and it was determined that she would need to ungergo a general anestetic to remove the oral masses. At the young age of 4, the vet detected a slight heart murmur and before he would proceed with the oral surgical work, which required, anasthesia, he prescibed the following diagnostics: complete blood panel, urinalysis, chest radiographs, ECG and an echocardiogram with a board certified cardiologist. Dr. Goldfarb stated to Trupanion that "The echocardiogram and cardiac work up was performed by Kristen McDonald at the Animal Care Center on 8/16/13. The ECG, chest radiographs and echocardiogram are considered diagnostic tests for the purpose of Lilly going under anesthesia and removing the oral masses. The cardiology report clearly states that "Lilly presents for aneststhesia clearance". Trupanion denied the singular claim and concluded that the ECG was a separate condition and applied the separeate deductible to the ECG even tho our vet wrote and said that it was a diagnostic test required for the anastesia. The cardiology report also stated that "Lilly presents for anastesia clearance", which is was the diagnostic procedure requied. Trupanion did not live up to their claim that "diagnostics" would be considered one claim. I was very disappointed that they considered this another "condition" rather than a diastonic test for a prescribed procedure. The deductible tab was over $500. for a "new condition". Otherwise, we have been pleased with their prompt response for other "conditions", but be careful how you "present" as they can worm around.

I don't know wny people choose any other insurance other than HP! Super stoked and glad i made the rigth choice!

Simply the Best

As an attorney i deal with insurance companies regularly, and i see the worst of it all. Suffice it to say, i was pretty skeptical when i decided to sign my dog "Yuba" up for pet insurance with Healthy Paws. Multiple broken bones and surgeries later (sometimes a lab just can't help doing the crazy things that labs do), and Healthypaws has been there every step of the way. The have not only covered all of Yuba's claims without argument, they have covered them quickly, and compassionately, always being sure to send a get well note along with a note that the claim is being covered and the check is on the way. I have never experienced an insurance company as honest, caring, and down right awesome as healthypaws, and i probably never will again; they are truly one of a kind and come highly recommended by my family and pup.

Pets Plus Us gives fabulous service.

I recently put in my first claim to Pets Plus Us. Having dealt with Pet Plan and Pet Care in the past, I was expecting the whole process to take weeks. Yet in only a couple of days I heard back from them and in less than one week from making the claim the money had been deposited in my bank account. I couldn't believe how fast their service is. I am so impressed!

Excellent pet insurance with outstanding service

My golden retrievers have been insured by Healthy Paws for almost 3 years now. In that time I have had several emergencies and injuries all of which were processed quickly, efficiently and without any issues. When I lost my girl last Dec. to a bleeding tumor on her spleen, my claim was processed, payment issued, her policy cancelled and a condolence card sent within days and without me having to make a single phone call! Most recently, my boy had to have his spleen removed because of a tumor and my uploaded claim was processed within 48 hours. Suffice it to say I have been completely satisfied with Healthy Paws!

yes im glad i have Vip insurance

My dog got so sick with pancretites and had to go to the hospital for 4 days, didn't even know if she would make it, the bill was over 4000. and VIP paid just about the whole bill. They have always paid good, I have had them for years, I recommend them. But if your dog has a pre existing condition, they will not pay for that!

Thankful owner.. says thank you!

The process was so easy, what started as a horrible experience when a puppy was rushed to the vet, ended with a more than positive outcome. Booty Juice is once again healthy and happy and VPI made the entire process seamless. Thank you again!!
