Trupanion was terrific!

They paid 90% of all bills the day after they were sent! Wonderful company!

Excellent

Trupanion was quick and efficient at getting my dogs claim taken care of. I would and have recommended Trupanion to anyone who will listen! My dog had a blow disc, she is a miniature Dachshund who are prone to back problems. The claim was processed immediately and I was very pleased at the professional and wonderful care that they took to make sure my claim was taken care of quickly.

claim mistakes

mistakes : Embrace claim staff attempted contacting wrong vet service, required med history already on file, closed claim for no response from wrong vet service, etc., etc., But , after calling 3 times, the claims manager was able to straighten things out, very frustrating time for me. I would like to add the 1st wellness claim I submitted before this claim was handled without a hitch and done in a very timely manner, just wish this more recent claim could have been handled better.

Worth the wait

Despite the time it took (just shy of 3 weeks) to get the reimbursement, I am so impressed with PetsBest Insurance! It is so comforting knowing the bill I paid up front wasn't near the amount I'd end up paying in the end. They stand by their word. They covered everything after the deductible and my percentage had been met. The bill was 461 and I received 316 back. I am so grateful there are honest companies out there willing to help me with my unhealthy little one. I give this company 5 stars!!

What a relief!

I've been with Trupanion for 9 years (was called Vet Insurance before.) I've attained coverage for my dog ever since I adopted her, when she was only 3 months old. Been paying premiums her entire lifetime so far. Suddenly, her thorax (chest) and neck have been swelling up, not wanting to take long walks, panting more often during the short walks. Took her to the vet, and sure enough, she has a benign tumour in both these areas. Panicking, crying, and worried, I had absolutely no clue how to even start the whole insurance thing. I called them and said all this too. They were extremely supportive, giving me easy instructions on what to do next. They emailed me to give me the same instructions on the phone, to put in writing, as my mind was frantically worried over my dog. Out of the total cost of $1055.15, we received $755.91 back from Trupanion. As my dog needed surgery for tumor removal, this was %90 covered. It is very clear in the policy that anesthesia, preanesthetic bloodwork, or fluids are not covered. At the same time, dental care needed to be done, and this too, is a policy exclusion (i.e. there's no coverage for dental care and prevention/prophylaxis.) Just as we humans don't have coverage for preventive care (e.g. multi-vitamins, echinacea, Boost/Ensure, etc.), I totally get it with the policy exclusion on preventive/prophylactic care. My claim took 2-3 weeks. So I'm very content. Way faster that any Canadian waiting for their Medical-EI benefits. For those who mention that it takes an excruciating long time to have their claim approved, I advise to speak to your vet/clinic. Sometimes, the vet is extremely busy that they haven't sent all the reports that Trupanion is asking for, that you might need to verify with your vet/clinic that every single form has been submitted from their behalf. I've asked Trupanion what exact papers (word-for-word) is needed from my Vet, and even though Trupanion calls and emails my vet, I still go see my Vet in person, to ensure that me *and* the clinic are doing our part in submitting every piece of paper that Trupanion is asking for. In short, verify and clarify with your vet/clinic that they've sent *everything* that Trupanion is requesting. By the way, when I called Trupanion upon receiving the diagnosis for the first time, I was still at the clinic. Trupanion was requesting an estimate from my clinic. I sent it through my smart phone while I was still in the clinic. Unfortunately, the estimate was handw

Great Insurance Program, Skyrocketing Price

We have been using Pets Best for the last 5 years and are generally very happy with their program and customer service. However, because the cost of the policy has skyrocketed over the last 2 years, we are now questioning the cost/benefit of the program and will begin to look into other insurance programs.

Great insurance for my furry loved one!

I've only had Embrace for a few months but I am very happy with it so far. I think it's a comprehensive plan and I feel like my puppy is protected with it. It's reasonably priced and easy to manage online. They are fast to process claims. When I've interacted with the staff they have always been pleasant and helpful. Thanks for a great product!

Above and beyond!

Lauren is such a great costumer service representative for Figo and makes me feel so much better about my pups care. She is always available, and though it's her job, she's always so cheerful and helpful! We had an issue with our claim and she sorted it out promptly. Thanks Figo!
