Love Embrace -- great customer service!

My male dog has had first testicular cancer (he was a cryptorchid and we never knew!) and now cancer in his lymph nodes, so his care has definitely been expensive! Having Embrace takes such a weight off my shoulders to not worry about money. Their coverage is great, submitting claims is easy, and reimbursements are extremely prompt. Plus, their customer service is awesome -- I'm always able to get someone on the phone who can help right away.

Worry Free Process

When the Vet said the lump must be removed and biopsied, we were understandably nervous. The cost was so high, but not taking care of our dog was not an option. A credit card was all I could use to cover the costs. Submitting the claim and the subsequent interactions were painless and prompt. I honestly didn't know what to expect but anticipated a difficult time getting reimbursed. The opposite is true. The one thing I didn't have to worry about was paying the bulk of my credit card bill back. Thanks Healthy Paws for making a scary situation manageable.

Amazing Insurance

I have been with Trupanion since December, 2012. My dog became ill three weeks ago. They pre-approved his surgery the morning of leaving me reassured and with a reasonable deductible. Their response was measured, humane and beyond professional. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Great company

I purchased a trupanion policy in February 2016 my dog a beautiful 8 year old female Maltese was very healthy but I thought just in case I better get some kind of insurance. All of a sudden a dramatic change occurred with my dog, she became very ill and i submitted the claims well over 5 k.in about 15 days with 3 different veterinary hospitals. I just received an email approving my claims less my 500.00 deductible and excluding examination / office visit fee but paying everything else at 90%. A+ 5 star company and extremely helpful people with your questions . if only human health insurance was this efficient and caring.they actually thank you for taking good care of your pet.

Kept there promise to help !

Our new puppy Oliver was diagnosed with a hip problem and had Surgery soon after. We went to trupanion for assistance with this and found everyone we spoke to very pleasent and helpful and truly concerned about olivers recovery. Except for some paper work we where unfamiliar with .....our experience with trupanion was very positive and plan to tell my friends and family with pets to use them. They kept there word and responded swiftly to reimburse us ! Thanks again trupanion Sincerely ....Robert Krieger and family. Oliver too.

There when I needed it

I have a Dachshund, so I know they are prone to back problems and got insurance for the day when I might face that battle. Well, it was a much more mundane reason that I had to make a claim - my dog got into a neighbor's garbage and that caused him gastrointestinal problems for weeks. When I was out of denial that his problem would resolve itself I brought him to the vet where he got excellent care. I admit to being hesitant to filing a claim for fear of rising premiums, but having paid premiums for six years without ever filing a claim, I decided that I needed to go for it. The process was easy and the ability to file claims and upload documents electronically was convenient. My claim was settled within weeks and electronic deposit of my reimbursement makes that convenient too. I thought the reimbursement amount was fair after meeting the annual deductible. The explanation of benefits statement clearly explained what was and was not reimbursed and provided a note when items were denied. The best part was the follow-up phone call I got from ASPCA to check on Lucky and see how he was doing after his garbage "dinner". That was a nice touch.

Best pet insurance I've found compared to Pet Plan

I have Pet Plan for one of my dogs and Embrace for my other 2 dogs. They have almost identical coverage. Embrace is half the cost of Pet Plan (I pay the same for my 2 dogs combined as I do for my 1 policy with Pet Plan). With Pet Plan I have a $200 deductible for each claim. That means for any minor vet issues I always have to pay out of pocket first. My Pet Plan dog has 2 serious/expensive health issues which Pet Plan covers a significant amount of each year after the deductible. This is why I have not switched her over to Embrace for the cheaper monthly premium (her conditions would be considered preexisting by Embrace). But, every time she needs to go to the vet for something else, I'm back at square one. I easily pay 4 to 5 $200 deductibles a year. My 2 Embrace dogs have a $500 deductible each for the year. Once I meet that, all claims are covered. I find this much more useful. Recently one of my Embrace dogs injured his back. Bills piled up quickly and Embrace has covered everything after I met the deductible. They even covered vet-recommended laser therapy (similar to physical therapy) which I had not expected and was much appreciated. Also, Embrace mails my check in about a week. Pet Plan, though they have been getting faster, takes at least 3 weeks. For my next dog I will go with Embrace. My only complaints (with all pet insurance I've found) are the lack of immediate coverage for hip problems.
