The greatest service

ASPCA pet insurance is a very thoughtful policy. They take into consideration all possible circumstances surrounding pets and try to accommodate benefits. They are also very efficient in there turn around time when you submit a claim. And they also keep in touch as to where they are when processing. ASPCA pet insurance is also very affordable.

Best Pet Insurance we have ever had

Our rescue dog joined our family four years ago. The first thing I did was to get pet insurance for him. We considered the company we had for our prior dog, but after some research we decided to go with Embrace. And we are so happy that we did.Recently when our dog needed an MRI I thought, "Embrace will never cover that!" But they did. Then we found out our dog needed surgery. Again we worried that it would not be covered. But it was. Everyone at Embrace is competent, compassionate, caring, friendly, calm and helpful. Claims have been paid in a very reasonable time. Direct deposit is terrific. Our dog is doing well recovering at home now. He is smiling again and holding his head up. His tail wags all the time...but even when he was in great pain he never lost his "tail wag." Thank You, Embrace.

Puppy diagnosed with kidney dysplasia

I wasn't sure if I really needed pet insurance for a 3 month old puppy but thought it would be a good idea just in case. I am so happy I did because he has been diagnosed with kidney dysplasia and will need a lot of medical treatment . With healthy paws I will be able to give him the care he needs. It is so easy to submit claims and they reimburse quickly.

Awful customer service and claim service

This is an awful insurance policy. They do NOT cover claims. I submitted something after the standard 14 day waiting period and it was flatly declined as they decided that my pet had this condition in the past. This is despite their research into the history of my pet. Very disappointed in their treatment, service and the manner in which they process claims. You will never get money from this company. Don't buy it.

Piece of Mind

I have been with Petshealth Care Plan for 16 years now, and would recommend them to anyone with a pet. Having pet insurance has been piece of mind to me, knowing that I didn't have to make medical decisions about my pet based on money. Knowing I would be getting reimbursed for 80% of the usual and customary price for a covered charge helped when my pet needed ACL surgery and followup rehab. I will not lie, insurance is a bit expensive as the pet gets older, but I have been able to customize the level of insurance to suit what I can afford, and what is practical for my aging dog. It might not be for everyone, but I know that if there is another pet in my future, he will be insured with Petshealth Care Plan too.

Great coverage

Our 18month old golden retriever had an ACL tear. The diagnotics and surgery were covered. The paperwork and process was easy, and it was handled in a timely fashion!

Best pet related decision I've ever made

Recently we had one of our fears come to light. Our Bichon/Shi Tzu mix [Victor] woke up one morning not able to use his back legs. We made an emergency run to a surgeon and discovered he had a bulging disc pushing against his spinal cord and needed immediate surgery. We decided to proceed with the procedure since we had insurance and he is far too young to put down. Once we knew Victor was going to be OK, my worry turned to the insurance claim and how hard it was going to be to get reimbursement. I submitted the claim 3-4 days after the surgery, online, a very easy process. I had all my documentation and had to get my full vet records sent over. Then I waited for what I thought was going to be a battle with a large agency to get recovery. Then to my surprise, there was no battle, no questions, no refutes. Healthy Paws acknowledged the difficult time we were having with Victor, and processed our claim. Healthy Paws paid the full amount according to my policy and had the check in my hands before Victors recovery period (4 wks) was done. Now Victor can walk, run, & play like before, and we can rest assured that we have a great insurance firm that will stand by their claims should something terrible ever happen in the future

Premium Doubled, Rules Change As They Go Along

We selected Trupanion because they were supposed to cover more than other insurance companies, and said they do not raise the rates as the pet ages. Our first few claims were paid as expected. We thought great, they operate just as they promised. Then after several months, they stopped paying when my dog had a few ear infections. They claimed it suddenly had become a pre-existing condition. If it wasn’t pre-existing when the policy began, why was it several months into the policy? When my dog developed an intestinal problem, they helped pay for the prescription food. After a couple of months, they said they had changed the policy, and they are limiting prescription food coverage to 60 days. Now after having the policy for a couple of years, the premium almost doubled ($55 to $100 per month). Their explanation is they were behind on rate increases, and they need to catch up so they can match their revenues to their expenditures. So if you decide to purchase this insurance, be prepared to have them change the rules as the game goes along. Once your pet gets older and needs more medical treatment, the policy will likely be too expensive to afford.

Mixed emotions.

First off, we are thankful we have insurance for Addie as the bill would have been about $10000 at this point and we have paid $2000. The mixed emotion with this review is that we do feel that the marketing is a little misleading in suggesting it is just a $250 deductible. I appreciate the % varies depending on the policy, but to have to pay for consultations is a bit of a kick in the teeth. - It's like selling a car without an engine in it. Clearly it is needed and should be covered in the insurance plan.
