Good Coverage

I liked that they processed claims submitted online within a few days and I received direct deposit reimbursements within a few days after approval. I've had the insurance for two years, and with my cat's recent illness, I'd say I've come out about even as far as costs/reimbursements. Just wish his current illness wasn't going to be considered a pre-existing condition once my policy renews next month.

Nothing but a scam

Trupanion waived all existing conditions as a promo with my vet for a very very expensive pet plan. After taking thousands and thousands of dollars of mine, I finally sent in my first claims. The first couple went towards my deductible. But I have learned this is nothing but a scam. They waived the preexisting condition but they don't tell you that means that anything your dog has ever taken as a medication or had as a mild issue simply will not be covered. My dog had cancer. But because she was given a pain medication for arthritis in the past, that means they won't cover it. If she was given any pain meds for any non related to the cancer medications in the past, they wont cover them. One of the agents even said to me that "I should have had her enrolled as a puppy if I wanted them to cover those meds."I paid Trupanion all that money and even though my dog had several thousands of dollars of medical expenses related to brain and liver cancer they have covered less than $300. Talk about stealing your money. It was nothing more than bait and switch. They baited me with the help of my vet who KNEW that insurance companies do this by waiving any and all previous conditions like her knee replacement etc. And if her body had a slightly elevated liver enzyme for YEARS which the Vet told me was just her normal genetic make up. Trupanion won't cover it. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY. They add insult to injury. You will lose your companion AND Trupanion will steal your money. My vet is just as guilty. This is a scam.

Concern shown for my pet

My 8 year old lab had a spell of intestinal incidents in three months that required three different claims.ASPCA was kind enough to follow up on Duke after each claim as well as pay the claims off quickly. I appreciated the concern shown for my boy.

Healthy Paws is truly the best Pet Insurance

I have been a customer of Healthy Paws since February of 2014. I knew that it would be a wise decision to purchase pet insurance when we adopted our French Bulldog, because they are prone to certain health issues. I did a fair amount of research and found that Healthy Paws was not necessarily the name that came up the most, but it definitely had the best and most consistent reviews. So, we decided to give them a try. Our dog, who is now 3.5 years old, suffers from bad environmental allergies, which require a monthly prescription and, until recently, a monthly shot. He's gone through allergy testing, trying different medications in different doses, creams, shampoos, sprays and medicated pads and not once has Healthy Paws denied a claim. In fact, they have covered about 40 claims for us in just 3 years, with absolutely no hassles. None. Recently, he had to undergo surgery for a torn "ACL" and a minor luxating patella fix, kaching! I called HP prior to scheduling anything and they were very helpful and confirmed that it would be covered. And it was! My current chosen plan is 70% reimbursement, so we were ecstatic to know we'd be getting a large portion of it back. Even better...I received a personal (non-canned, non-generic) email from HP about a week after the surgery to check in on how he was recovering. Not only was getting pet insurance one of the best decisions we made, but I am so thankful we went with Healthy Paws. I gave them a 5 star rating because they are quick to process claims, quick to send out reimbursement checks (I think 2 weeks was the longest I've ever waited), maintain excellent customer service, had a variety of plans to choose from and they are comparatively affordable. At this time, I truthfully have no "cons" for HP and I highly recommend them.

Happy Customer

I am writing to say how grateful we are for Healthy Paws. My husband and I adopted our male cat, Davin when he was estimated to be about 9 years old. He was supposedly in good health except for a lot of missing teeth. We usually adopt older cats and they come with lots of health issues. I had never considered getting pet insurance before because of all the pre-existing conditions older cats have. Davin was different in that he had been given a clean bill of health before we adopted him. Fast forward 3 years. I could tell it was time to have Davin’s teeth looked at and took him to a veterinary dentist for a consultation. The dentist explained to us that Davin would need his 3 remaining canines taken out as they were swelling up under the gums and could be infected. Two had the tips broken off and at any rate, he said they were painful. Davin’s surgery went very well and he is now a toothless 11 year old man. The two broken canines were a source of possible infection so I sent Healthy Paws the necessary papers from the dentist to Healthy Paws. To our great delight, Healthy Paws sent us a check that will go a long way to paying Davin’s vet bills. I’m very grateful for this because our 15 year old female cat is the next cat to go for dental surgery. She is not insured so we must absorb the full cost of her surgery. Also, the veterinary dentist we are lucky enough to take our cats to has a remarkable talent for picking up heart anomalies in pets that other vets miss. This was how we discovered our female cat, Beauty, had a heart condition and this is how we learned Davin has borderline severe restrictive cardiomyopthy. Before Davin could undergo dental surgery, he needed to be examined by a veterinarian cardiologist and his echo-cardiogram showed heart disease. Davin will now need to be on three different medications for the rest of his life. Giving pets great medical care is not an inexpensive endeavor so I am very grateful that Healthy Paws is committed to helping us give Davin the best medical care we can. It has paid off for him and I wish I had it for our Beauty. Davin recovered remarkably well from his dental surgery and now that his offending teeth are out he is eating much better. As an added side benefit, the chronic eye goop Davin had from the day we adopted him has cleared up! We are also hoping that with those offending teeth taken out and the infection they harbored in his body cleared up, his heart will also benefi

Healthy Paws Insurance - THE BEST

I love this company! I researched many pet insurance companies and by far Healthy Paws Pet Insurance provides the best pet insurance ANYWHERE. The cost, coverage, and ease of making a claim (via a picture on their APP) is far superior to other companies. My first claim was seamless and recently I needed to make a second claim for my 18 month old French Bulldog. Again, the process was seamless and there were no gimmicks to deny either claim. My deductible was only $100.00 and Healthy Paws covered 90% on both claims. I have referred multiple family members and friends and EVERYONE who is now insured by Healthy Paws loves this company. I very rarely write reviews but have been so impressed with Healthy Paws that I needed to give credit where credit is deserved.
