No action on claim long after 30 days

Do not recommend. It is long past the 30 days past claim and there is no action. Not a denial, just "waiting" for review. It is a waste of money and you will not be helped.

Worst pets insurance company

By far the worst. Not a throughout investigation, and no proper notes of why claims are denied or if there are any medical reports needed. Customer service has no empathy and takes months to have a claim processed. Look for another company. Not recommended.

lower deductible

I like the pet insurance it has come in handing with me being on Social Security, the only thing I wish, the person I talk to when I sign up explain better the policy because I found out I can not lower my deductible. Only up to 30 day of joining and NO ONE told me that.

Horrible

I am honestly so disappointed and disgusted by this company. The purpose of purchasing pet insurance is to make sure that you are able to take care of you animals when they suddenly get ill. Unfortunately for me that was not the case, and I am shocked to see 10/10 reviews on here. Other websites have them rated much worse, and I wish I would have checked before I signed up both my animals. When I adopted my cat from Pet Smart, this is the insurance that was recommended. Within the first two weeks of having Dwight, he got sick and I took him to the vet (Nov 2020). They gave him antibiotics and he was fine the next day after taking them. This was 3 days away from the start date of the policy and therefore it was not covered. In April of 2021, Dwight became very ill and I took him back to the vet. He ended up at the specialist and they are suspecting feline infectious peritonitis. I was told to put him down. It is now July, I took him back to the specialist and his blood work came back perfect and he is doing well. The specialist wrote in the notes he is not able to confirm a diagnosis. All of my claims have been denied for the following reason: "We are unable to reimburse your treatment expenses for Dwight's Fever/Lethargy/Anorexia as this medical condition has occurred within your policy’s 14 day illness waiting period." For you reference, here is a list of reasons why a cat may have a fever (which causes lethargy): Bacterial infections, Viral infections Fungal infections, Various parasites, Tumors or some cancers, Internal injury, some medications, Poisoning or toxins, Immune-mediated inflammatory disease, Metabolic disorders, Autoimmune disease, Endocrine disorders and environmental causes (https://wagwalking.com/cat/condition/fever). How is FIP being considered a preexisting condition when the only indication is a fever, which clearly was cleared up by antibiotics back in November? Also how is FIP being considered a preexisting condition when he hasn't even been confirmed to have it? In fact, the latest blood work said that and immune-mediated inflammatory disease could likely have been the cause. I have had vets write notes for me and have been going back and forth with claim resubmissions to get the EXACT same denial letter. I feel very defeated as the vet bills were close to $5000 and the money spent paying the monthly costs for this insurance could have just gone towards his bills. Please do yourself a favour and go with a more honest, transparent and helpful insurance. This insurance will find any excuse to deny your claim. Shameful.

Not as great as I thought it was.

I’m pretty disappointed. I have paid for my insurance policy over 9 years. I’ve dealt with all the price hikes and as my pup has gotten older, they raise it to such a level, it’s as if they want you change your policy or get rid of it. This year was the first time I ever had to use it. Prior to using insurance, I was told there would be yet ANOTHER price hike next month. Now that I have actually used her insurance, they changed the price yet again for next month to over 50 dollars more. How shady and messed up is that. And they are not making it easy to process the claim. Sure they take your money and raise prices, I get that as my pet ages, but raising it over 50 a month is just absurd. You just want me to give my pet lower coverage so you all don’t have to pay for her treatments. Crappy thing to do to your long time customer.

Excellent coverage, compassionate, quick reimbursement, wellness program is really helpful, great customer service.

Embrace offered excellent rates and their wellness program is a real help with maintenance. My dog, Sam, had to be euthanized this year and Embrace covered the cost. My dog Bip, needed dental work and Embrace covered that. Barney, a standard poodle, needed grooming throughout the year and with the wellness program I was reimbursed for his upkeep. The best part of Embrace other than their timely payments, is that unlike other pet insurance companies I've used, Embrace does not try to deny claims. Their customer service reps are excellent - informative, patient, compassionate, really know the Embrace policies, and actually assist in getting the claims paid.

Happy Owner

I've had Healthy Paws over 5 years now for my two Cockers Spaniels. My older one has some health challenges and has had a few surgeries. Healthy Paws has always been really easy to work with to submit a claim and get reimbursed quickly. It's great knowing that if something is going on with my dogs health that I don't have to worry about the financial burden while making sure my pet get's the best care possible. I would recommend Healthy Paws to anyone the needs great affordable health care for their pets. Sincerely, Collin
