PetsBest takes a long time to process a claim, close to 30 days. Preexisting condition definition is very broad, be sure you understand it before signing up. For example: if there is a record of your dog ever itching, they may exclude any Dermatology condition.

Chris came through sooner than expected!
Chris clearly understood my inquiry and took time to research it on the phone. When he recognized that my claim had not yet been paid, he escalated the issue and managed my expectations for resolution. When I called on 8/25/2025, Chris explained it could take up to 15 days to complete the review. I received the payment for my claim today, 8/27/2025. Fortunately, he followed the best practice of service to under-promise and over-deliver. Thank you Chris!

Couldn't just sign up for accident…
Couldn't just sign up for accident insurance. I don't know if that was my fault or that you can't just sign up for accident insurance. Also I tried to login to my new account three times and was unsuccessful. I don't know if it's because we have an annuity with you as well.

Wonderful experience
The agent with whom I spoke was a complete gem of a person. Patient, helpful, knowledgeable, did not apply pressure to buy. That the online quoting system keeps your quote and allows you to amend it while you experiment with your coverage is so helpful. Sonnet saved me money on both my policies!

I wouldn't ever recommend this company
I would never recommend this company. In respect to my policy they have been unethical and fringe on fraudulent practices in my opinion where I am concerened. Good luck getting through to a live person and having anyone return your calls! I had an incident in a parking lot in 2022. I was parking and another driver backed into me. I had zero damage while the other driver incurred some. I did the appropriate and called Sonnet to report it. Initially I was told I was not at fault, Days later I was contacted by Sonnet and told I was actually 50% at fault (for someone else backing into me???) I didn't fight it because I had no damage and didn't see the point, regardless it was a zero dollar claim. As Sonnet is no longer offering auto insurance in Alberta, I have been looking for another insurance company. Imagine my frustration and anger when I discovered that Sonnet has rated this as an at fault accident with "Direct Compensation Property Damage" which have trippled my insurance premiums!! The best part is that Carfax has this reported as a ZERO dollar claim. So how can they have me rated as a higher risk when they reported this as a NO claim??? Once again, no one has gotten back to me and my policy lapses in early September and I have been fighting with this for over 2 weeks. If you're looking for insurance and you get a decent quote with them, my advice is RUN! Find an insurance broker local to you, that you can actually see in person if you need something.

I have really struggled…
I have really struggled to get Embrace to understand I split my wellness bills from the vet into payments with the vet. I have had claims denied because the vet receipt to me says zero, but the charge was moved over to my installment, and they won't accept the installment because each payment to the installment doesn't have a wellness item attached to it. I send in both the zeroed out bill with costs, and the installment receipts, and still get denied. After the companies response, and attempt to follow their instructions for successful payment, I was just denied again, Although the action happened within the guidelines of the policy, they deny based on paperwork the vet has available. So a company that is offering insurance, but not paying, and the customer can't do anything about it because they are limited to what the vet provides. I have sent in a BBB complaint and I hope this company can align their claims to vet clinics so the customer isn't in the middle paying for something they are not getting. And masking as military friendly when in fact they are not. A complaint to USAA to remove affiliation is next.
