Grateful for Trupanion
My dog became very ill and her liver was failing. The vet thinks she ingested a toxin (most likely from a poisoned animal). Trupanion approved the hospital bill in seconds. The entire cost was over $7,000 and Trupanion paid exactly what they said they would. Having Trupanion made it possible for us to make decisions about what to do based on what she needed not how we would pay. We are so grateful that we had Trupanion. They saved our dog!

Very poor
I’m disappointed at how long and frustrating the claims process is. Took them several weeks to finally resolve our claim. Yet they keep increasing my rates. I would not recommend them to anyone

Trupanion has really been a godsend in handling high costs incurred from specialist visits related to my dog's battle with aspergillis disseminated. The representatives have been extremely caring, helpful and extremely competent when I've called in with issues. I wholeheartedly recommend Tripanion!!

MetLife did very well
Transferred to Metlife from another pet insurance. It was night and day. In my experience, faster and easier processing. Very good customer service! I chose 100% coverage and did not regret it. I was able to transfer despite pre-existing conditions as long as you have documentation and have to wait for the waiting period. I truly believe they have a good product and took care of my pet.

Quick service! My dogs got into a bit of a scuffle and my GSD needed stitches in her ear and leg. The staff was so caring, they took her in and cleaned her up and also took the time to make sure I was ok as I was a bit shaken by the whole situation. The doctor explained everything she did as well as post procedure instructions. I was extremely pleased with the whole experience. They also give an estimate prior to service so no huge surprise when the bill came.
