Panda and Maui
"Pet's Best has been a true partner. I rescued Panda from a shelter when she was 6 weeks old and bought Pet's Best right after for both of our dogs. Panda has lots of energy and loved her ball more than anything so we played a lot of ball. Maui was older and only has 3 legs so I anticipated he would need some ongoing care which is why I looked for insurance to begin with. Turns out Panda was the special girl in our family. We found out she has only one working kidney after a bout of acute colitis - she has a super sensitive stomach and gets stressed out easily. When we went in for an annual check on kidney function she had been sitting weird and I asked them to take a look and seemed to have trouble getting up and laying down. She was diagnosed with bilateral CCL tears which would require surgery so needless to say - LOTS OF CLAIM EXPERIENCE and Pet's Best has done an amazing job of processing claims timely and paying as expected. I really don't know what I would have done without coverage for Panda and Maui. We will continue to be loyal customers. "

Pets Best reduces your invoice amounts without consent
The line item amounts on my EOB did not match my actual veterinary invoice. Pets Best reduced 4 items by a total of $130 without my consent or explanation. Please process claims based on the actual invoice amounts as stated in your own policy terms. I have already filed complaints with the California Department of Insurance (CDI) and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) regarding this matter.

Easy, Fast, and Stress-Free Claims with Pets Best
Pets Best makes it really easy to submit claims. I usually complete the process right from my phone while I'm checking out at the vet, which saves me a lot of time. The app is very user-friendly and straightforward, so I don't have to worry about complicated steps or paperwork. Overall, it's a quick and convenient experience that makes handling claims stress-free.

Stuck with the complete bill for a bite…
Stuck with the complete bill for a bite wound. And they charged me an extra $50 under their “free 30 day trail” don’t go with them they just want your money and $250-$400 a month for coverage when they won’t drop one dime is ridiculous!!!

Do not waste your money on this sham
Do not waste your money on this sham! I have made two claims that have been denied for coverage. Now they are telling me any time my dog has the same issue it will never be covered. I paid for a year but will definitely not renew. This was not a pre existing condition as they try to claim. My dog was diagnosed with a problem in March, and I enrolled in the policy in January. You do the math.

Do not trust MetLife Pet Insurance when it actually matters.
I have been a MetLife pet insurance customer with three dogs on the same policy. Every time one of my dogs got sick and I submitted a claim, the VET visit was categorized as "Office Visit/Consultation" — and every single one of those claims was approved without issue. Same language, same format, every time. Then came my dog Dobby's last visit on April 16, 2026. He was sick. The vet gave him Cerenia injections for vomiting, prescribed Metronidazole for what was clearly a gastrointestinal illness, and ran diagnostic bloodwork to find out what was wrong. MetLife denied the entire $482 claim and called it "Preventive Care." Preventive. For a dog who was actively sick and being treated with an antibiotic and anti-nausea injections. What made this so much worse is that Dobby passed away. I was grieving my dog while simultaneously having to build a formal appeal letter citing their own policy language back at them just to fight for a $154.99 reimbursement. The same type of visit they had approved for my other dogs multiple times suddenly became grounds for a full denial — no explanation, no call, just a form letter. The inconsistency is infuriating. The timing made it cruel. If you're considering MetLife Pet Insurance, understand that their claims process is inconsistent, and when you're at your most vulnerable — when your pet is sick or dying — that's exactly when they will give you the hardest time. I filed a formal appeal. I shouldn't have had to.
