Easy but not always fair
It is very easy to use the VitusVet app to submit claims. I have been satisfied with most of the decisions, but I think Nationwide is too liberal with the preexisting condition classification. I will have to do a thorough analysis at the end of the year to determine whether or not it is worth continuing.

Worst company - they are a scam
I've had insurance with them for 13 YEARS straight, since my dog was a puppy. I've been paying $30-$40 per month in premiums for 13 YEARS and only submitted 3 or 4 times - only ONE of which was approved. I just submitted a claim for preapproval for $2200 and was approved for a measly $150. Ridiculous considering I’ve put in far more than that in premiums. DO NOT GET TRUPANION - they are a sham “insurance” that will never pay out.

They Saved My Dog's Knee
I'm a year late writing this review, but oh well. Last year, my then-4 yo chihuahua terrier completely tore his ACL and because of his breed and knee structure, the surgery was complicated and costly. My family did not have $5,000+ to pay for the surgery, and the vet doesn't do payment plans. Luckily, Lucas (the dog) had been serviced by Healthy Paws for over a year and we felt comfortable with the claim process. Usually these insurances are reimbursement based, but because it was such a large amount, I talked to a HPPI representative and was able to get them to pay their part up front (90%!) and I ended up paying only $500 for my dog's pre-surgery consult, surgery, and post-surgery check! And, because of their unlimited lifetime claims (unlike other providers) i have no worries that I am going to run out of insurance money as he ages (since he's just a pup). Overall wonderful service.

Excellent service and truly caring company
My cat Sakhi developed a heart condition in 2018 Trupanion’s assistance and customer service has been beyond all expectations. The initial process when he was in the ER for a week was excellent because of their very caring staff and the claims have been processed timely and without any issues. I value Trupanion more than they know even though Sakhi is doing well his condition is for life and thanks to Trupanion he is receiving the care that he needs

Layla's acupuncture/chiro care has been covered and to date seems to be working very well. Her bronchitis is much improved.
Layla's acupuncture/chiropractic treatments have been covered and to date seem to be very effective. Her bronchitis is much improved. I appreciate the fact that these treatments have been covered by Embrace. I hope that Embrace does not put a limit on them in the future. Much better than giving Layla steroids. Luckily Embrace has not limited such treatments in Connecticut yet. I would encourage the underwriters to not change this.
