Hassle free claims
Any claims that I have submitted for Harper have been promptly processed. The forms are easy to fill out and submit. If I’ve had a question, all I’ve had to do is call and I get an answer right away form a courteous customer service rep.

What can I get out of paying?
We had both our dogs "insured" with Figo. WORST CARRIER EVER! I am not going to go into great detail, but just know that they will try to weasel their way out of paying a legit claim. I am in investments/insurance and my husband is a claims adjuster so we are in this field and tend to know how claims work. My dog had fecal impact, we had the plan for almost 6 months by this point. They denied the claim stating it was a "pre-existing condition". I do not need to explain that if you my dog was impacted for over 6 months, my dog would have her angel wings. I filed a BBB complaint and they later adjusted it, we received a $1.99 reimbursement and we met our deductible. Well, we cancelled our plan. I asked them to go back and review all of the other claims they labeled as "pre-existing conditions" and I have not heard a peep. They tried to save face knowing that we cancelled our plan just to appease BBB. Nice try. We all know what you did, Figo. I left reviews on their FB page and SEVERAL other had similar complaints. There are many reputable companies out there, I would research before buying into their plan.

This is better insurance than my own!!
Trupanion has been a blessing for me and my dog Betty-Lou many times over the last 2 years. I always thought insuring a pet was nuts, but when l bought a higher risk breed my vet convinced me it was the best way to go. So the day l brought her home....she was insured. And the piece of mind that monthly payment brings......is truly pricelesss. For the cost of taking my family out for pizza, Betty-Lou's life is literally protected. She recently had to have ACL surgery and there would have been no way l could have afforded it! I don't even want to think about what l would have had to do if l didn't have Trupanion! Everything was smooth, the surgery, her meds, all her aftercare xrays it all was and still is being covered. The only stress l had/have during this whole ordeal is keeping her entertained while she recovers!

We are generally "ok" with Pets Best…
We are generally "ok" with Pets Best time to process claims and our receipt of claim payments. We are not "ok" and do not like Pets Best policy provisions regarding the processing of charging us coinsurance costs BEFORE our Deductible is fulfilled for the year. All this does is lengthen the amount of time it takes to fulfill our Deductible and therefore costs us more money out of pocket. When researching our concern, we found that the policy provision language in our documents are vague in regard to clearly communicating the timing of when coinsurance is to be charged to us (i.e., charging coinsurance during the dime we are filling our Deductible or only after we have fulfilled our Deductiible). When we brought this up to the company via their Service Department, the Department obviously did not care. If we had realized Coinsurance was to be charged at the same time that the Deductible was being fulfilled WE WOULD HAVE NOT PURCHASED THIS PLAN.
