Our year old chihuahua required surgery for luxating patellas on both back legs. I was very nervous given the bad press about pet insurance and was worried we would have hassles with our insurance claim for Lucy. The first claim was held up due to a computer glitch but the second claim (one knee required a second operation on Dec. 23)went through without a hitch- the cheque arrived at my house Dec. 29!) The Trupanian reps I spoke with by phone were wonderful and seemed to have a genuine interest in making sure everyting went smoothly. I was pleased with the reps and only dealt with one rep who I found to be adequate, but not very friendly. The second operation took place 2 days before Christmas at a specialized vet hospital. I knew it was going to be $$$ (and it was!) but Trupanion came through again, processing the claim in less than a week! In fact the tech that we dealt with at the clinic uses Trupanian for her pets so I thought that was a good endorsement. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly the claim was processed and the kind and patient reps (except the one...)that I spoke with on the phone. (And our beautiful puppy is home with us, recovering and doing well!)

We're in year 2 of our policy and we're still amazed at how fast claims are made. The people at embrace are knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, and caring. This is astounding with the growing number of customer "no" service companies that consumers are subjected to.

I adopted my dog Kona in January of 2011. In the first few days of having him we spent $500.00 on what we thought may have been parvo. Luckily, it was a false positive but the vet quoted us $1200.00 for treatment, which we didn't have. Immediately, we began looking at many different pet insurances and finally settled on Healthy Paws. I'm so glad we did. My 5 month old Havanese ate something he shouldn't have and got very ill with vomiting and diarrhea. He spent a night at the vets and received multiple treatments and xrays. I couldn't believe it when the vet handed me a $1200 bill but was just happy he came out of it healthy and happy.Healthy Paws made my life so much easier when they processed my claim super quick 3 days before christmas!!! I couldn't believe it!!! I then received my check just a few days later!!! This company is amazing and I would ALWAYS recommend them to any responsible pet owner. They even sent me a personal follow up email to check on my pup. I was touched. If you care about your dog or cat then this is the company to trust them to. They do exactly what they promise!!!

When we got our Bernese Mountain dog pup I knew we would need insurance.I had insurance with another company in the past and they were fine, but I thought I would check to see if there was a better alternative. For me, that better alternative was Healthy Paws. The things that "made the sale" were; 1. an annual rather than a per incident deductible, 2. No lifetime maximum, and 3. reimbursement of up to 90%. Unfortunately with a six month old dog we have already had to submit claims. The first problem was a stubborn eye infection, which we ended up seeing an ophthalmologist for. More recently, he developed neck pain. We took him to an emergency vet for xrays and lab and started meds. Unfortunately this did not help and he was seen on an emergency basis by a neurologist Christmas eve (Saturday). He had an MRI,spinal tap, multiple lab tests, and was kept overnight in the hospital as he was diagnosed with immune mediated meningitis. He had a follow up visit on Monday and a few additional lab tests. Because of the holiday weekend, I faxed the claims for both visits Monday at around noon. By the close of business Monday I had an email that told me my claim was being processed. By Tuesday morning (less than 24 hours)I had an email with a copy of the remittance advice. The checks arrived the next day. This meningitis adventure was just north of $3800. I chose the 90% reimbursement level, so after subtracting the exam fees which were $350, I got checks totaling just over $3200. No ques

Total freak accident when my Husky slipped and fell on the tile floor tearing his cruciate ligament and damaging his meniscus. Trupanion took care of everything so I could focus on caring for my furry family member's recovery. They worked directly with the hospital to process the claims and payments were made within a couple of days. Even with the Christmas holiday, I received my check in less than a week. They communicated with me throughout every step of the process so that I was always well informed of where my claim was in the approval & payment process. I also received some follow-up calls from customer service just to see how my pet and I were doing. Trupanion's staff truly cares about their clients and they provide some of the best customer service ever. In addition, their premiums are lower than the previous insurance I had for my pet, the premium doesn't increase as my pet ages, there's no maximum payout amount and they cover 90% of the claim after your deductible is met. The total vet bill for TPLO surgery & rehab ended up being over $6,000. I have never been more grateful for pet insurance. Thanks Trupanion!!
