Incredible insurance for peace of mind
After much research, I selected Healthy Paws pet insurance after rescuing my two puppies. Since they were rescues, I didn’t know what to expect from a medical background. I am so thankful for Healthy Paws services, professionalism and responsiveness. They are always very quick to process your claims. My one rescue was only 6 months when we learned she was going to need very expensive elbow surgery. Healthy Paws made an impossible decision so much easier. Without them, we would have not been able to afford the surgery. The ongoing prognosis required ongoing medication, all of which has continued to be covered. I fully expected, as with most human insurance companies, things to get denied or pushed back. This never happened as long as it was under the coverage. They don’t cover exams and well pet costs, but that is what you sign up for as a pet parent. You don’t sign up for making heartbreaking decisions between helping your pet when they are in pain or sick and your finances. Healthy Paws gives you the freedom and independence to make sure you can always do what is right for your pet. Most recently, my same dog had a mass removed and they followed up with a personalized email asking how she was doing. This is a company that truly cares about pets, their customers, and making sure the best care is received. I’m so thankful I found them and I can’t recommend them highly enough. I’ve been extremely impressed with Pets Best! The ease of filing a claim and getting payment has been a lot easier than I expected. I’ve had to file several claims over the last 2.5 years that my dog has had this insurance and the process has been flawless!

Simply the Best
After searching through reviews, and pros and cons for several pet insurance options, we landed on Pets Best. Our kids had been begging for a pup for years and it was the only thing on the Christmas list complete with dog food, a dog bowl and a pooper scooper. We found ourselves at a cross way and (reluctantly) gave in. I’m typically not one that purchases additional services if there’s a chance they won’t likely be needed but I’ve heard too many stores of puppies needing surgeries for eating something they shouldn’t, so we intended to keep the insurance for one year. Everything was great until we took her in to be spayed, she came out like a different pup. She wouldn’t sit on her rear, didn’t have much energy, each day that went by was getting worse. We finally switched Drs and found out she was in kidney failure and wasn’t sure she was going to make it. The local vet tried to do 24/7 fluids to force her kidneys to flush the toxins but she barrel rolled and pulled out her IVs. Since they weren’t staffed 24/7 and not able to trust her, I drove her 2.5 hours to the nearest emergency vet clinic. There she was diagnosed with Renal Dysplasia, we were told to put her on expensive food and she would need to have fluids frequently... as well as the fact that she will likely have a much much shorter life. Pets Best had been phenomenal in reimbursing every single claim I’ve put through, in the past six months since being diagnosed we’re close to or have exceeded five thousand in claims. They have reimbursed for every single one. They would have even paid for a kidney transplant (pre-approved), however that wasn’t an option in our case. I truly can’t say enough good things about Pets Best.

Worst scam ever - they don’t take care of your pets!!
I had this insurance company for 10 years and they didn’t pay 1 cent per vet fee even though I paid $30/month. Every claim I made they had another excuse for why they wouldn’t pay and the fees climbed each fiscal. Don’t waste your money or trust on this company for your furry best friend.

Got my pup in March of 2020 and went with Healthy Paws insurance. Absolutely No complaints. EASY to submit a claim, EXTREMELY fast turnaround in payment. The app is super easy to use as well. Im glad I got the insurance because my pup has been having a rough time this year with some stomach issues. I don't know how future years will be but this year having the insurance was well worth it! Hope yo not have to use it year after year but it is good to know its there, you just never no. My monthly payment isn't too bad either. Comes out to about just a couple of cents over a dollar a day! Worth the peace of mind. The costumer service is excellent. In the beginning (being new to pet insurance I had questions) I called and a representative answered my questions patiently. ALSO, I got a random email from Healthy Paws asking how my pup was doing and hoped he felt better. That was a nice surprise. I am completely satisfied with my choice of pet insurance.

Both of my cats are on Trupanion
Both of my cats are on Trupanion, and boy was I glad because they covered my one cats 7000$ surgery. There was a cancer scare and after 5 biopsies we now know that’s not the case. I will be a customer for life because they have been extremely helpful and speedy when it came to payment!

Pre-existing symptoms are the same as Pre-existing illnesses
I am shocked at the way I have been treated by members of Trupanion. My experience with them was the worst I have ever experienced. I was denied on every occasion, for coverage for my dog - whom is under two years old, all because he vomited as a puppy (he ate a sock). They would not treat any issue if vomiting was involved - they even stated that "if he was his by a car and vomited, they would not cover any medical treatment because he vomited." If they vet does not word the visit a specific way, even if it is a new incident or injury, you are denied. They denied every single claim and the managers I spoke to denied me from requesting further assistance and speaking with someone above them. I am so disappointed with their service. Don't be tricked - Trupanion treats pre-existing symptoms the SAME as pre-extisting conditions. I hope someone from Trupanion will reach out to me and rectify this issue, I am sorely disappointed and hurt by my experience.
