Too Difficult to Get Coverage

I signed up for Embrace because of it's rankings and price. First had to do the ortho waiver which both of my pets passed with a clean bill of health. Then 3 weeks later, they asked us to contact our vet to have them fax the medical records. My complaint is, why didn't they have us do this when we did the ortho waiver(?) My vets complaint, understandably so, is why should he tie up his office staff even more faxing in the records when we were first there? Thus, he refused since he already gave the dogs a clean bill of health. Also, I saw in the fine print that after you send in the records, they will only be reviewed when a claim is filed UNLESS you request them to be reviewed earlier. This is definently a loophole for them to deny claims, and is a very ticky-tacky way to do business. Needless to say, I cancelled and went with another company.

Speedy Service

Embrace is the third pet insurance I've tried and I have to say I have been very happy with their services thus far. They are in constant communication with you from the minute you sign up and getting my first check from them was hassle free and fast. Their policies are clear and there are no hidden exceptions.

Satisfied

Claim was handled fast and all my questions answered. I subbmitted a claim for my cat's annual wellness exam. I don't think I need to go through Embrace for the wellness exam reimbursement because it only saved me $50.00

Great Claim Processing

I signed up both of my dogs with Healthy Paws in 2012. Their rates are not the cheapest ($55/month for 9 y/o maltese), but their coverage is great and their claims process is excellent. We have 90% coverage and $100 deductible for our maltese. She got Pancreatitis and was in a lot of pain. We took her to our general vet in Jersey City who referred us to the Blue Pearl in Manhattan. Vet services are significantly more expensive in the NYC metro area. She was admitted for 1 night in ICU and 1 night in general boarding. She had all kinds of ultrasounds, medicines and 24 hour supervision. After all was said and done and she was all better, our bills came out to $3551.00. Healthy Paws reimbursed us $2856.06 or 80%. This is below the 90% coverage that we have, but it is factoring in deductibles and things that are not covered, which were only the exam fees. Everything else was covered. We had to send in all of our pets vet history when we were setting up the policy. That was the only difficult thing we had to do. Once the claim was submitted, we had it approved the next day and check was received a few days later. Super fast. Knowing that services are significantly more expensive where we live vs. somewhere in the midwest, my wife and I were expecting for the 90% coverage to be that of a national average or something of that sort, but that was not case. They reimbursed from our submitted invoices. I looked up the coverage on the insurance offered through my employer (Yes

Not happy

Very unhappy with Embrace - I thought I researched carefully for the proper insurance for my dog Molly, my first claim after 2 years with Embrace, (I only submitted a claim when the expenses were high) was denied, after countless emails, and delays - totally confusing to me and to the Vet, who tried to keep up with what they requested. Finally they denied my claim in December after months of emails back and forth. Quite frankly, I am very sick of the whole thing. I would never recommend Embrace because they are just to hard to work with. I am cancelling my policy. Now lets see how hard they make that!!! Shirley McDonald - Unhappy former customer

Appreciative of coverage

We have multiple pets insured by Pet Partners. In particular, Trevar, our Scottie was without major medical issues for many years under his policy, however over the past two years medical issues arose-numerous diagnostics, surgeries, chemo, hospitalizations, etc. Needless to say our veterinary costs was exhorbatant but of course we would do whatever possible for our "Buddy." Two particular months of medical costs were in excess of $6000. Pet Partners (based on our policies)reimbursed us at least $4600. Although their premiums are a bit higher that some other companies, the coverages they offer are top notch and their reimbursements based on policy selection as you can see by the above receipt, are exceptional. They also give you an extended amount of time to file, and once filed benefits are dispersed promptly.

Healthy Paws Insurance & staff are great!

My 4/yr/old Boxer, was found to have an anal tumor, chronic anal gland issues, and blew out his right cruciate ligament all during the month of December 2012. (Merry Christmas!) Two different veterinarians explained to me that the surgeries needed to be done sooner rather than later, as Rocky's good rear leg was taking additional stress from the overuse due to the bad right rear leg. Surgery was scheduled for 12/27. Thankfully the anal tumor turned out to be benign. Rocky's post op period started out a bit difficult, but he is now on the mend. He starts water treadmill therapy this week. He is expected to be fully functional on both legs before the snow melts for spring in Alaska. What a relief! I can not imagine having a large male Boxer crippled for life at the young age of 4 y/o had I not been able to afford his surgery and the worry of not knowing if a tumor was cancer. My customer service experience with H.P. was great. Everything regarding reimbursement at 90% for costs above the deductible (I selected the $500 annual deductible but there are lower amounts available at signup) was as stated in the plan. There were no surprises when I received the detailed outline of the reimbursement payment. When I first looked into pet insurance plans, I chose Healthy Paws because I could actually understand how the plan would work. It written in clear language and did not appear to have a lot of "gotchas". I did not expect to need pet insurance until Rocky aged, but sure am gla

Double Pneumonia at Christmas

My 9 month old English Bulldog came down with double pneumonia just days before Christmas. He spent 3 days at the vet as he was really struggling to get those lungs cleared. Thankfully I didn't have to worry about the bill since I have insurance for him. Embrace covered I received 1600 from his 2200. bill (this was my 80% after the 200. deductible). There was no hesitation from Embrace on paying this out...no questions asked. I have another bulldog that I have covered (regretfully) under another insurance company. I wish I knew about Embrace when I signed her up. Embrace has been a much better company to work with and they don't disqualify issues based on breed.

Fast Payment/Response Time

I have been with this company since I got my dog as a puppy and he just turned 10. They are very good at paying for what they cover and are quick at handling claims and also very nice and professional. The only thing I didn't like was a year or two ago, after a claim, they almost doubled my monthly rate saying it was based on the average costs of basset hounds in my area. I interpreted this to mean my basset hound, since it was right after a claim - and that didn't seem right after 7 plus years of paying into the program. I would have given them a 10 if not for this.
