Wonderful pet insurance company

Trupanion is quick to process claims without any problems and their customer service is very good. I recommend them to friends and anyone else. I am so glad I took out pet insurance.

My pet insurance allowed me to treat my cat, Muffi

I had to get many tests to find out why my cat, Muffin, was losing weight including an ultrasound and liver biopsy. Without insurance I might have not been able to do all of this. Her weight has stabilized for now.

High recommend!

My first claim with Trupanion was covered with no problems, and I was so thankful that I selected their company for my puppy. Our German Shepherd is now 5-1/2 months old and was recently diagnosed with SIBO following a trip to an emergency veterinary hospital. It is nice to know that Trupanion was there for us and processed our claim in such a timely manner. We were able to obtain highly professional treatment and care for Anna at this specialty hospital thanks to our coverage with Trupanion. I had recommended this insurance company to my daughter when she got her puppy, and I am so glad that I went ahead and purchased it for our pup. My daughter has had her policy for three years and has never had a problem. Highly recommend!

The best out there!

I had VPI as my first pet insurance. After spending $8000 on cancer treatment for my 5 year lab mix (RIP Jada), VPI paid out less than $2000. My vet office told me about Trupanion! I did not renew my VPI insurance on my other dog. I have only had to make small claims on my current two dogs (Stella and Buddy). Those small claims I received over 75% of my total vet bill. Buddy was hit by a car in February 2013, after emergency vet visit ($600) and oral surgery ($1900); Trupanion paid out $1700. I was so shocked that we recieved such a large return compared to VPI. The claims were processed in less than week! I will always cover my pets with Trupanion and tell all of my pet loving friends about them!

Buyer beware on "pre-existing" pet health issues

We have had three cats covered by the ASPCA Pet Insurance plan since 2008. In general the plan has provided the type of insurance support advertised. Most years we had no claims or claims less than the cost of purchasing the insurance. However in 2013 we have had a major challenge with the insurance plan. We submitted an insurance claim for a $2,500 procedure and it was denied because we had crossed 11 days into a new coverage year and because the pet’s illness had begun earlier it was now considered a “pre-existing condition”. After discussing on the phone with the ASPCA Pet Insurance claims individual and the supervisor, who were professional in their interactions, their answer was still to deny the claim. Even though we have been continuously covered for 5 years for all three cats and had not submitted any claims for the earlier veterinary assessments and felt that there was a change in diagnosis prompting the major assessment, it was considered “pre-existing”. In fact, no matter what the diagnosis or how slow the progression of a disease if the ASPCA can prove that at any time (even a day) earlier in the previous covered year there was any indication of illness then its “pre-existing” and not covered. Anyone signing up for ASPCA Pet Insurance should be fully aware that if their pet becomes ill at any point in a covered year and they do not fully resolve the illness in that year they will not be covered when the new policy year begins, no matter the reasoning. We obvious

Amazing Service

This is my second claim from Embrace. The service is fast and reliable and the explanation of benefits is easy to read. I told my vet that they should recommend Embrace and I recommend it to everyone I know who has or is thinking about getting a pet!

Excellent

Any expected chronic illness of Addison's disease has left us with long term health care commitments with our puppy Hailey. We never know when an Addison's crisis will occur. Or unexpected bloodwork, hospitalizations or medication interventions during stressful periods. Trip anion helps offset the medical expenses. If not for pet insurance Hailey may not be us
