Our 3 year old pup had a skin tag that was growing quickly and needed to be removed and sent for biopsy immediately. We had our vet submit the claim to Trupanion the same day, but we anticipated it would be an extensive process before we received any word or reconciliation on the claim. But, to our pleasant surprise, Trupanion followed up within a week of the surgery and sent us a reimbursement within two weeks. We really didn't expect this to be so quick or easy, but are definitely happy we have Trupanion. Also, the biopsy results were negative. :-)

I have two cavalier king charles spaniels. If you are not familiar with the breed, there are several specific health concerns that are associated with them. Because I wanted to make sure that my animals were able to receive the best care possible, I decided to invest in pet insurance for them. I did extensive research on all of the companies, and ultimately ended up with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for several reasons: 1. No Anual cap on claims: this was very important to check, as with your premiums, some companies have caps at around 1,500.00 a year. This made no sense to me, given the comparison of premiums and the coverage.healthy paws has no annual cap, the only company I could find that offered no cap. 2. Pre-existing condition coverage: again, this was a fine print obsession for me. My older cavalier had a luxating platella in his right knee prior to obtaining coverage. This is very common, so I wanted to make sure that any insurance company I went with would cover a similar injury to the other leg. In the context of pet insurance, this is apparently referred to as a "bilateral condition". Healthy Paws was the ONLY insurance company who had very minor restrictions on Bilateral pre-existing conditions, only ACL injuries, which seemed very univesal to all companies. 3.Reimbursement values: this was the best around, I ended up selecting the 90% reimbursement, with a slightly higher premium. 4. My Boston Terrier mix, Callie, had a run-in with a porcupine. She needed extensive medical care and because of Embrace I didn't have to hesitate with a "YES" when the doctors asked "May we proceed?" Callie didn't make it but I rest easier knowing we did everything we could. I didn't have to make that hard decision that is usually driven by my financial situation. Thank you Embrace for being there for us. The claim process was easy during a hard time. When I spoke to you on the phone you were practically crying with me and I could feel the understanding. I'm not sure what else to say but if you are considering pet insurance, don't just consider it, DO IT! Embrace is the place to go. The process of enrolling and placing claims is quick and easy and worth every penny.
