Very pleased with Healthy Paws

A wonderful, easy experience that helped us focus on what our pet needed versus the stress of money and struggle for answers.

Thank you for helping us save Blue

Our Siberian cat, Blue, a member of our family that we can’t imagine life without, ate a lily. Lilies are very poisonous to cats. Our vet sent us right to our MedVet. He is a lucky boy to be alive. He spent three days on an IV and medication. Without Healthy Paws we would of had to beg, steal and borrow to keep our boy alive. Within a week of submitting our claim we were reimbursed. Thank you to Healthy Paws for helping us, help Blue😻

Best pet insurance. If you're debating between companies choose healthy paws.

I have had healthy paws pet insurance for my 2 cats since 2014 and have probably saved at least $4000 dollars on their care in that time, possibly more. I have had some very serious things happen with both kitties that cost a lot of money and knowing that healthy paws would reimburse the majority of the cost for those things was a HUGE comfort and made it possible for me to even provide the care for my babies that otherwise I could not have. Pet health insurance is definitely worth it and healthy paws is the best one around. They even wrote me personally to check in and see how my cat teddy was doing after his recent dental where he had to have some pretty serious work done. That's quality and the kind of company I want to work with.

I have nothing but good things to say…

I have nothing but good things to say about this company....i had no waiting period as it was right after a clean bill of health so it was waived as a special....the first surgery was 3 months after getting the insurance...would have cost me over 4500, and it was covered...then he had 3 more surgeries, a neurological work up and 2 other conditions he has for life, so lifelong meds...everything has been covered as laid out by their policies...never had a claim denied, all his meds are covered at 90% and even his special food that was prescribed was covered at 50% for up to 2 months.....my experience with them is topnotch and have been with them for 5 years now....i also had a deductible, was able to lower it to zero and i recently put a small one back on to keep my premium lower....i can also keep raising my deductible as my premiums rise, altho its slight....i pay based on a 4 year old dog and hes 9 now and i still pay based on his 4 year old age, as they dont raise premiums for age nor do they have a claim cap limit nor do they have a limit on number of claims and dont raise based on clamis either.. ..this company Is awesome!

Pets best is just that!

I am very skeptical about pet insurance. I went with Pets Best because they were 1/2 the price of my previous insurance, 1/3 of the deductible, and paid 90% as opposed to 80%. This being said, I was even more skeptical. I hd two separate claims, fairly close together-most places would make you do separate claims-not these guys. It was so easy to do, my Husband couldn’t believe it either. Samson was only 6 -not young for a Mastiff, but not old either. He was not acting right, we took him to the first vet at $400. A month later he was acting as if bloating, took him in, had surgery, and he never came out of the anesthesia 😞💔. Many thousand later and VERY FEW, VERY pleasant phone calls later, we had a check. I called back to cancel his policy (I forgot with all my grief,) the man on the phone said how sorry he was for my loss and that they would be sending me my last payment back! This is one of the last, true, honest, amazing companies left in this country! They paid everything that they said they would and then some. I am a customer for life-as are many of my coworkers, friends, and dog associates, which are many. Thank you Pets Best, you made my grief so much more tolerable! Keep up the good work and God bless your sweet costumer service people-they ROCK! ❤️❤️❤️

Frustrated: 2 Years and No Coverage Yet

I have had Trupanion for 2 years and it has not covered most, if not all, of the services my pet has needed. The most recent one was that she contracted two infections in one of her ears. Trupanion said that since her file indicated that she had an ear infection 3 years ago, that counts as a "pre-existing condition" and therefore would not be covered. That seems like a bit of a stretch to call an ear infection a "pre-existing condition" and, if we were to accept that definition, then in fact only 1 of the 2 would be the condition (since she has never had the 2nd type of infection before) and she should have still been covered for the other. I am not impressed with the services and it seems to be as much, if not more of a racket than the human health insurance system is.

Ridiculous rate hikes

Got this insurance for my puppy when she was very young. We’ve probably had three or four claims that were actually paid because she’s not been sick or had too many emergencies. We have not had a claim at all that has been paid in the last few years. When we first signed up we were told that the rates could be expected to increase 5 to 10% per year which I thought was fair. However, in the past two years even with no claims a rate has doubled to $100 a month. Got this insurance for my puppy when she was very young. She’s only seven years old so what do they expect me to pay when she is older 200, 300, no, I think that I will just start her a savings account right now with the money that I would be paying them. I was hoping to keep it for her entire life as goldens tend to have a lot of congenital issues and I’ve had three of them that I’ve had cancer. But if the rates they are charging, I will be paying more out-of-pocket for Insurance than if I paid out-of-pocket for medical care
